SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE CLUB OF RIT FOR THE YEAR: 2020-21

Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with SAE India Collegiate Club of RIT and RIT Mechanizo jointly organized the "TETRAD CTCW-21" contest for school children of IX to XII standard students through the Internet. The competitions were held under the topics of Crossword Puzzles, Technical Quiz, Connections and Word Jumble from 01.06.2021 to 05.06.2021. Totally 76 students participated for this contest. The main objective of this contest to test the students knowledge in the field of English, Science and Engineering. Mr. R.Venkatesh,AP/Mech coordinated the entire contest. Mr.M.Lakshmanan, AP(SG)/Mech convenor of this contest. The overall feedback of this contest is Very Good.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with SAEINDIA Collegiate Club of RIT organized a Virtual workshop on Engine and Transmission Systems (Dismantling & Assembly) for polytechnic students under TECHRITZ21 on 24 April, 2021. Mr. M.Ashok Kumar, AP(SG)/Mech acted as a resource person for this event. A Total of 18 Students were attended from various polytechnics. Mr.R.Venkatesh, AP/Mech Coordinator for this event.

RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized One-day Lecture Meeting on Waste to Reuse- Redmud for Industrial Applications on 21.01.2021. Dr.M.Uthayakumar, Professor, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Krishnankoil. Totally 69 students were participated in this event. Mr.M.Lakshmanan, AP(SG)/Mech & Mr.R.Venkatesh, AP/Mech faculty coordinators for this event. V.Sunil Prabha and M.Thojesh Nandha acted as student coordinators for this program.

RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized Technical Quiz - Manufacturing Technology from 28.12.2020 to 03.01.202. Totally 61 students were participated in this event.

RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized Technical Quiz- Machine Design from 28.12.2020 to 03.01.2021. Totally 122 students were participated in this event. RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized One day webinar on Vibration Control of Rotary Machines on 17.07.2020. Dr.Raj Subbaiah, Vice President, Hydro Modeling Inc, Florida, USA. The resource person explained real-time examples like tilting pad bearing and Strain gauge measurements. After that, he demonstrated vibrational problems happening in fracture mechanics studies and clearly explained types of vibrations and fault Diagnosis techniques. Totally 120 participants participated in this event.

RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized A Five-day webinar series on ME8651 Design of Transmission systems-Overview from 15.06.2020 to 19.06.2020. The session is handled by the internal and external resource persons. Totally 122 students were participated in this event. RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized Events for School Students from 11.05.2020 to 17.05.2020. This event namely Clay Molding, Circuit Design, Programming in C++, and Business Plan competition. The main aim of this event, to motivate the students of the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th standards. Totally 15 students were participated in this event.

RIT SAEINDIA organized a guest lecture on Recent Advancement in Manufacturing Processes for II, III and IV Year Mechanical students on 09.10.2019. RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized Tier-I Competitions (Modeling and Animation, Auto Quiz, Mechatronics and Group Discussion, CFD Contest, Manufacturing Tech Challenge, Welding) for II, III and IV Year Mechanical students on 14.09.2019. Totally 50 students were participated in this event. Mr.M.Lakshmanan, AP(SG)/Mech & Mr.R.Venkatesh, AP/Mech faculty coordinators for this Tier-I competition.

RIT Team CRITON were participated in Three Day Tractor Design Competition -2019 at S.R.M Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai from 22.08.2019 to 24.08.2019. Totally 20 students were participated in this event The Students attended the following tests.

RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club organized Tier-I Competitions (Mechatronics, CNC Milling, Material Identification, Mechanical workshop, Group Discussion, Business Plan) for II, III and IV Year Mechanical students during September 2018. Totally 50 students were participated in this event. Mr.M.Lakshmanan,AP(SG)/Mech & Mr.R.Venkatesh, AP/Mech faculty coordinators for this Tier-I competition.

RIT SAEINDIA Society Conducted a Lecture Meeting on Electric Mobility Things to know About for SAEINDIA Student Members (Internal & External) on 16.08.2019 (Friday). The lecture delivered by Mr.PRADEEP CHANDRASEKARAN, (General Manager Vehicle Integration and Design, R&D, Force Motors Limited, Pune) for 50 participants.

SAEINDIA Tier 1 Aero Model Competition was organized on 04.07.15. The flying aero modelling contest was conducted in two rounds. Second year Mechanical Engineering students Ajay Balaji and Balaji got First Prize and Third year Cibiraj and Muthu Ganesh got Second Prize.

J.Mohammed Jassim, K.Venkadesh and C.Ilangathir Third year Mechanical Engineering students attended Engineering New Entrepreneurs (ENE) program conducted by SAEINDIA Southern section Chennai Institute of Technology on 27th July 2015.

M.B.Vyas Narayana and T.Abin Baby Third Year Mechanical Engineering attended SAEINDIA TREK Program conducted by PET Engineering College on 1st and 2nd of 2015.

R.Cibiraj and B.Muthu Ganesh, Third Year Mechanical Engineering students have attended Open House Meeting- SAE International Aero Space Team organized by SAEINDIA Office, Chennai on 19th December 2015.

Balaji K, Dinesh Kumar B, Esakki Raja P, Gowtham Raj S, Harish P, Harish Kumar G K (III Year), Senthilkumar P, Shanmugham S (II Year) of Mechanical Engineering students participated in SAE- Aero modelling Competition at Vellore Institute of Technology from 23.09.2016 to 24.09.2016.

II Year Mechanical Engineering Students attended Tier I, II, III Event (Sheet Metal, Mechanical Engineering Design, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Auto Quiz, Group Discussion) organized by RIT SAEINDIA Collegiate Club from 02.03.2017 to 03.03.2017.

SAEINDIA KRT & SAE STUDENT TREK

Mr.S.Valai Ganesh and Mr.J.Jabinth, AP/Mechanical participated in SAEINDIA Southern Section conducted KRT & SAE Students Trek hosted by Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai at Yarcaud Hills, Salem District on 2nd and 3rd September 2017. Members of SAEINDIA Southern Section of various organizations participated in the event and made the program a grand success.

RIT SAEINDIA BAJA TEAM

The BAJA SAE Series is an event for the undergraduate engineering students, organized globally by the Society of Automotive Engineers, USA. The event originated in the name of Mini - BAJA, in the year 1976 at University of Carolina. Since then, the event has spanned across six countries USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil and India. The BAJA SAE tasks the students to design, fabricate and validate a single seater four - wheeled off road vehicle to take part in series of events spread over a course of 3 days that test the vehicle for the sound engineering practices that have gone into it, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradability, speed, acceleration and manoeuvrability characteristics and finally its ability to endure that back breaking durability test.

We have registered for SAE BAJE competion organized by SAEINDIA.

RIT BAJA Team attended All- Terrain Vehicle design for virtual BAJA SAE India 2016 Competition organized by Christ Univerity, Bangalore from 24.06.2016 to 25.06.2016.

SPIRITZ- VIRTUAL BAJA 2017

The Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA is a filtration criterion,through which all the registered teams are scrutinized for their knowledge and capability to participate successfully in the main event.The Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA acts as a pre-qualifier to participation in the BAJA SAEINDIA event.

The objectives of the Virtual BAJA Event are as follows:

1. To acquaint the teams completely with the objectives of the BAJA SAEINDIA event.

2. The teams are required to familiarize themselves with the technical guidelines and limits for the design of BAJA vehicle.

3. To design the complete CAD Model of the BAJA Vehicle.The design should be complete in all respects to the extent of being considered ready-to-manufacturing.In 2018 BAJA the 388 teams are registered for the Virtual BAJA from that the 364 teams are attended on that day.Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2017 hosted at CHITKARA UNIVERSITY Patiala,Punjab -140401 during 14.07.2017-15.07.2017.
