ISHRAE
The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 12,000 HVAC&R professionals as members and additionally there are 7,500 Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.
Our Institute has joined as a college chapter of ISHRAE in the academic year 2018 - 2019. Our society is actively contributing to the growth of HVAC professionals by organizing various seminars, technical talk, and workshops. Also our society is providing job opportunities for the final year students in the HVAC domain every year.

Inauguration and Technical Talk on Duct Basics (21.07.2020):
Ramco Institute of Technology ISHRAE Student Chapter in association with ISHRAE Madurai Chapter organized Digital Installation ceremony and Technical Talk on Duct : Basics on 21.07.2020 (Monday) between 06:30PM to 08:00PM. Dr. P. Udhaya Kumar, National Vice Chair ISHRAE Student Activities is the chief guest for the student chapter installation ceremony and Mr. G. Savaridoss Franklin, Royal Engineers, Madurai & Treasurer ISHRAE Madurai Chapter is the resource person for the technical talk on Duct : Basics. 34 participants got benefited from the session which was hosted through the Google Meet online platform.
Quiz on Insights of R&AC (23.10.2020 25.10.2020):
Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with RIT ISHRAE and ISHRAE Madurai Chapter organized a quiz on Insights of R&AC from 23.10.2020 (Friday) to 25.10.2020 (Sunday). Overall 55 participants from all over India and different student chapters were participated and got benefited from the quiz.
Webinar on "Basics of psychrometry" (28.10.2020):
Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with RIT ISHRAE and ISHRAE Madurai Chapter organized a Webinar on Basics of Psychrometry on 28.10.2020(Wednesday) between 04:30PM to 05:30PM. Dr. K. Srithar, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thiagarajar College Engineering, Madurai engaged the session with his expertise. 23 participants got benefited from the session which was hosted through Google Meet.
Webinar on Basic and recent trends in R&AC (12.01.2021):
Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with RIT ISHRAE & ISHRAE Madurai Chapter & RIT IE(I) and RIT - IIC organized a Webinar on Basics and Recent Trends in R&AC on 12.01.2021(Tuesday) between 02:30PM to 03:30PM. Dr. P. Balachander, Assistant Professor, R&AC Division, Department of Mechanical Engineering. CEG Campus, Anna University, Chennai engaged the session with his expertise. 101 participants got benefited from the session which was hosted through Google Meet and live streaming on YouTube.

RIT ISHRAE Inaugural Function (20.08.2018):
Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the inaugural function of professional society RIT ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers) on 20.08.2018. The chief guest Mr.S.Arul, Owner and chief MEP Design engineer, Arul design, inaugurated our chapter and issued the student chapter certificate.
Technical Talk on VRF Systems (20.08.2018):
The Technical talk on VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) Systems was given by our chief guest Mr.S.Arul. Variable refrigerant flow (VRF), also known as variable refrigerant volume (VRV), is an HVAC technology invented by Daikin Industries, Ltd. Like ductless minisplits, VRFs use refrigerant as the cooling and heating medium. In the technical talk our chief guest explained the working of VRF Systems with neat schematics and he mentioned the advantages of VRF systems over the chiller plants.
ISHRAE JOB JUNCTION Online Test (27.10.2018):
Every year Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) is conducting job junction for final year B.E Mechanical Engineering students. For this academic year, from our college 14 final year Mechanical Engineering students have appeared for job junction conducted by ISHRAE on 27.10.2018 (Saturday).
aQuest Prelims (30.12.2018):
ISHRAE Madurai chapter conducted a preliminary round for aQuest (a national level quiz program) at KLN College of Engineering, Madurai on 30.12.18 (Sunday). From our college four students namely S. DIWAN AHAMMED SHA, V. GOWTHAM CHAKARAVARTHI, M. BHARATH JEGATHEESH and R. MANISANKAR as two teams were participated in this event.
Industrial Visit (13.02.2019):
To get the idea about the real world application of refrigeration and air conditioning, our ISHRAE student members visited sri elumalai cold storage and Thirupathi Devasthanan Marriage hall as their industrial visit.
R&AC Quiz (15.02.2019):
ISHRAE and MACHANIZO Association jointly conducts quiz competition for the students of 2nd , 3rd and final year on 15.02.2019. Seventeen students were participated in this quiz and the first prize gone to Mr. Mohamed Meeran from final year Mechanical Engineering.

Student Chapter Installation (14.08.2019):
Student Chapter installation for the academic year 2019-20 for RIT-ISHRAE is held on 14th August 2019. Dr.Udayakumar, ISHRAE student chair, south zone, installed our student chapter.
Technical Talk (14.08.2019):
Mr. K. Tamilarasu, Member ISHRAE finance committee, has given the talk on Present Trend in Employment Opportunity. During his lecture he has given the clear cut idea about the present trend in HVAC & R employment opportunity for the ISHRAE student members.
Guest Lecture & Industrial Visit (26.09.2019):
Mr. N. Balachandran, Sree Engineering, Madurai, has given the guest lecture on Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Cold Room / Cold Storage. During this lecture he explained the working of cold storage and the various opportunities in the cold storage. After the lecture students visited the cold storage in sri suyambulingam pazhamuthir nilayam as their industrial visit.
ISHRAE Aquest Quarter Final (16.12.2019)
ISHRAE Aquest Quarter Final (South Zone) is held at Easwari Engineering College, Chennai on 06.12.2019. The following ISHRAE student members from third-year Mechanical Engineering B section have participated in this event.

Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with RIT ISHRAE and RIT - ISTE organized a Webinar on Waste heat recovery with absorption heat transformers and its applications on 03.06.2020 (Monday) between 02:00PM to 03:00PM. Dr. S. Sekar, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai engaged the session with his expertise. 278 participants got benefited from the session which was hosted through Google Meet across India and Overseas.
