Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of Computer Professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. Our Institute has joined as an Institutional Member of the Computer Society of India in the year 2014. We also have student chapters comprising of more than 75 students in this forum of computer professionals. Our Institute actively contributing to the growth of Computer professionals by organizing various events like Coding Contests, Workshops, Seminars, and Technical Talks. Knowledge Dissemination meeting is happening every fortnight to discuss the contributions in CSI Communications.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

INTELLEXA 26, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI) and the Institution of Engineers IE(I) Student Chapter was successfully conducted on 04.02.2026 with an overwhelming response with participation exceeding 400+ students from various institutions. The events were designed to enhance practical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills among participants. The NEXA AI Workshop provided hands-on exposure to emerging AI tools and future technologies, while the AI Prompt Arena challenged students to craft effective prompts and showcase their AI expertise. The Paper Presentation event offered a platform for sharing innovative ideas and research insights. The Web Design Clash encouraged participants to demonstrate their creativity by designing dynamic and user-friendly websites, and the Code Relay tested teamwork and coding efficiency in a competitive environment. In addition to the technical events, several non-technical events were also conducted to promote creativity and engagement among participants. Events such as IPL Auction, Brain Blitz Quiz, Mind Link Challenge, and Photography and Reels provided a lively platform for students to showcase their talents, general knowledge, teamwork, and creative skills. Overall, the events fostered innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence, making INTELLEXA 26 a grand success.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), organized a Project Poster Contest on 25.03.2026 and 26.03.2026 with the objective of encouraging students to showcase their innovative ideas, technical knowledge, and presentation skills through visual representation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, with a total of 53 batches actively taking part in the contest. Each batch presented their project ideas through well-designed posters, covering various domains such as emerging technologies, real-world problem-solving, and application-oriented solutions. The event was coordinated by the IV Year CSE students, under the guidance of Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi and Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika, who ensured the smooth and effective conduct of the contest. The student coordinators for the event were Ms. P. Deepthi Pon Gayathri, and Ms. S. Priyadharshan, who played a vital role in organizing and managing the activities efficiently. The posters were evaluated based on predefined criteria including innovation, clarity of presentation, technical content, creativity, and overall impact. The participants demonstrated commendable efforts in effectively communicating their concepts through visual elements and concise explanations. The contest provided a valuable platform for students to enhance their research, teamwork, and communication skills. It also encouraged knowledge sharing and inspired participants to explore creative approaches to problem-solving. Overall, the Project Poster Contest was a great success, fostering a spirit of innovation and active learning among students.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter of Ramco Institute of Technology, organized a workshop titled Data to Decisions: Power BI Workshop & Data Insight Challenge on 14.03.2026 at the CC4 Laboratory for first-year students from various departments. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of data analytics, data visualization, and dashboard creation using Microsoft Power BI through a hands-on learning approach. Students were trained in data importing, transformation, and the creation of visualizations such as bar charts, pie charts, and dashboards, along with the use of filters and slicers for effective data analysis. As part of the session, a Data Insight Challenge was conducted where participants analyzed a given dataset and developed meaningful visualizations, helping them understand real-world data interpretation and decision-making. A total of 51 students from CSE, AI/ML, CSBS, and IT actively participated, making the session highly interactive. The workshop was handled by student resource persons Ms. J. K. Kaviyalakshmi, Ms. R. Sri Prishigaa, Ms. R. Hemamalini, Ms. K. S. Kamali Sri, and Ms. A. Sivapriya (III CSE). The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, Head of the Department of CSE, and coordinated by Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika, AP-II/CSE. Overall, the workshop provided valuable practical exposure to data analytics tools, enhanced analytical thinking, and strengthened students understanding of data-driven decision making.

The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, in association with RIT Computer Society of India, organized a Two days workshop on Bridging Business and Technology with salesforce Developers on 12th and 13th February 2026. Mr. Ashok Raj Rajendran, Founder & CEO Digikas India, Private LTD and Ms.Shobana Devi, Senior Tech Lead cum Salesforce, Deveoper in Digikas, served as the resource person and discussed about the customer relationships and salesforce developer process. 66 students participated in this workshop and get benefited. The event was coordinated by student members V.Vaishnavi,(III yr CSBS), S.Rajakaleeswaran,( III yr CSBS), T.Keerthi Shree,( II yr CSBS) and M.Nawin Karthick, (II yr,CSBS) under the guidance of faculty coordinatorsDr.S.Erana Veerappa Dinesh, ASP/CSBS, Mrs.M.Shabana Fathima, AP/CSBS and Dr. M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASP & Head/CSBS.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with Computer Society of India (CSI), organized a Six-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Agentic & Generative AI for Societal Transformation: Applications in Healthcare, Governance, and Education from January 27, 2026 to February 2, 2026. The FDP featured expert sessions by eminent academicians and industry professionals, including Dr. V. Dhilip Kumar, Professor and Associate Dean, Vel Tech, Chennai, who discussed emerging trends in Generative AI and Agentic systems; Dr. Sundar Balan, Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Boston, USA, who shared research insights and future directions in AI; Dr. P. Johnson Durai Raj, CEO, Postulate Info Tech Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, who provided industry perspectives on AI applications; Mr. Sabarinathan Muthu, Senior Technical Manager, Gateway Software Solution, Coimbatore, who explained enterprise-level AI implementations; and Dr. G. Saranya, Assistant Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai, who highlighted AI in education and research. Internal resource persons Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi and Dr. K. Vignesh Saravanan from RIT contributed with practical insights into AI tools and techniques. The sessions focused on real-world applications of Agentic and Generative AI in healthcare, governance, and education, benefiting over 160 faculty participants from across India and abroad. The program concluded with a valedictory session and was conducted under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi and Dr. M. Pandi, and coordinated by Dr. A. Sivanesh Kumar, Dr. S. Poornam, Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika, and Mr. K. Bala Karthick.

The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, in association with RIT Computer Society of India, organized an Intra Department Coding Challenge on 22 January 2026. 22 students participated in this event. The event was coordinated by student members of CSI Amuthamozhi R, (II yr CSBS), Gokul A, (II yr CSBS), Margret Punitha, (III yr CSBS) and Rajakaleeswaran, (III CSBS) under the guidance of faculty coordinators Mrs.M.Rekha, AP/CSBS, Mr.M.Rama Krishnnan, AP/CSBS and Dr. M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASP & Head/CSBS.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter, organized Suffer on Shuffle Random Theme Web Design Battle, on 10.01.2026 a creative web design competition aimed at enhancing students UI/UX design skills, creativity, and adaptability. The event was conducted in two rounds: Round 1 Theme Shuffle (30 minutes), where teams randomly selected a theme and designed a web page based on it, and Round 2 Twist Shuffle (20 minutes), where they incorporated a surprise requirement into their existing design, testing their flexibility and problem-solving abilities. Submissions were evaluated based on creativity, theme relevance, user interface design, and effective integration of the twist element. The event was coordinated by Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika, AP-II/CSE, under the guidance of Dr.K. Vijayalakshmi, Head of the Department of CSE. The winners were First Prize: Rhema Shiny K; Second Prize: Breeta J and Jeyarinthiya V; Third Prize: Vaitheeswari R and Sakthi R of II CSE. Overall, the competition provided hands-on experience in web design, strengthened UI/UX and problem-solving skills, and fostered creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition among students.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter of Ramco Institute of Technology, organized an online seminar on Bridging Compiler Theory with Modern Technology Applications and Enterprise Operations on 08.10.2025. The session was delivered by Mr. Naveenkumar K, Junior Telecom Officer, BSNL, Chennai, who provided insights into the role of compiler technologies in modern computing. The seminar introduced students to key concepts such as AI-assisted programming, Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation, LLVM, and Clang, and explained their applications in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, and enterprise systems. The speaker also discussed compiler optimization, security aspects, and real-world use cases, along with a comparison of GCC and Clang. A total of 120 students from III CSE actively participated in the session. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A, making it an informative and engaging experience. Overall, the session helped students understand the practical applications of compiler theory and its importance in current industry practices.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Hands-on workshop on Cisco Networking from 01.09.2025 to 03.09.2025 for III Year CSE students, with 48 students participating in the session. The program was conducted to provide students with practical exposure to fundamental and advanced networking concepts. The session began with an introduction to computer networks, emphasizing the importance of networking skills in the IT industry and the role of Cisco technologies in modern network infrastructure. The resource person explained the basics of network communication, types of networks, and the significance of routers and switches in data transmission. The session covered key topics such as an overview of Cisco networking devices and their real-time applications, IP addressing, subnetting, VLAN configuration, router and switch configuration, and practical exercises using Cisco Packet Tracer for network simulation. Students were guided step-by-step in setting up basic and intermediate network topologies and learned troubleshooting techniques and verification commands used in Cisco environments. Through hands-on practice, participants gained experience in routing, switching, interface configuration, ping operations, and network testing. The session also highlighted the importance of Cisco certifications such as CCNA and discussed career opportunities in the networking domain. The event was coordinated by Dr. M. Swarna Sudha (ASP/CSE) and Mr. V. Vivek (AP/CSE) under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi (HOD/CSE). The student coordinators Ms. M. Deepalakshmi, Ms. M. Karthika, Ms. M. Arunadevi, and Ms. B. G. Anu Subiksha (III CSE) efficiently managed the event.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter, organized the Cross Code Challenge on 23.08.2025 for II Year CSE students, with 91 participants taking part in the event. The competition aimed to enhance students programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills through a practical coding challenge. The event was conducted as a single-round competition where participants were allowed to choose a programming language of their choice and solve a set of coding problems designed to test their logical reasoning, algorithmic thinking, and coding proficiency within the given time. The submissions were evaluated based on correctness, efficiency, and coding style. The event was coordinated by Mr. Jayaseelan and Mr. Senthatti Kaalai Pandian (III CSE) under the guidance of Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika, AP-II/CSE. The winners of the event were First Prize: M. Deepa Priyadharshini & M. Annalakashmi, Second Prize: G. Balamurugan & K. Balaganesan; and Third Prize: R. Rashika & T. Siva Sharmila. The event provided students with valuable hands-on coding experience and fostered a spirit of healthy competition among participants.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), organized a guest lecture for II Year CSE students on the topic Importance of DS and OOPS Concept for MAANG Companies. The session was delivered by Mr. Visahan Mohan, Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Microsoft, Hyderabad. During the lecture, he explained the importance of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming concepts for securing placements in product-based companies such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. He also discussed the key differences between service-based and product-based companies with simple examples. Mr. Visahan guided students on how to begin their DSA preparation, recommending platforms like LeetCode and NeetCode, and encouraged consistent problem-solving practice. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where students clarified their doubts related to placements, internships, and preparation strategies. A total of 100 students participated in the guest lecture.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), organized a Three-Days Workshop on Cyber Security from June 4 to June 6 at the HPC Lab. The workshop introduced participants to fundamental cybersecurity concepts including password safety, basic Linux commands, networking fundamentals, and an overview of cybersecurity tools. Demonstrations were conducted using tools such as Kali Linux, Wireshark, and Burp Suite to provide practical exposure. The sessions were handled by Mr. C. Mohan Kumar, Final Year CSE student. A total of 30 participants attended the workshop, including school students who had completed their 12th standard. The programme was coordinated by Mr. R. Balamurugan, AP/CSE and Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika, AP/CSE serving as Faculty In-charge under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE. The student coordinators were K. Kishore Kumar, J. Reya Swarn, J. Jaya Shree, and M. Harshavardhan. The workshop helped participants gain basic awareness and understanding of cybersecurity concepts.

The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, in collaboration with the RIT ISTE Student Chapter and CSI, organized an International Webinar on Enhanced Cloud and Virtualization for Future Innovators on 14 November 2025. Mr. Dushyant Dubaria, Cloud Computing Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), USA, served as the resource person and discussed innovations in AWS Global Infrastructure, AWS cloud services, including compute, and storage and networking, helping students relate theoretical concepts to real-world applications. Around 150 participants, including internal and external, benefited from the session. The event was coordinated by student members Abishek Kumar V,(II yr CSBS), Deepa R. S.,(II yr CSBS) and Rumana Nachiyar M, (IV yr CSBS) under the guidance of faculty coordinators Dr. S. Erana Veerappa Dinesh, ASP/CSBS, Ms. M. Preethi Ram, AP/CSBS, Mrs. M. Shabana Fathima, AP/CSBS and Dr. M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASP & Head/CSBS.

The Technical Quiz on AI & Data Science, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), was conducted on 26 September 2025 at the Data Analytics Lab. Students from the I, II, and III years of the B.Tech. CSBS program enthusiastically participated in the event. A total of 24 participants took part in the quiz, showcasing their knowledge, competitive spirit, and problem-solving abilities. The event was coordinated by student members by Ms. Abinaya G C (II CSBS), Balaji Prasanna S D (II CSBS), Gayathri Devi M K (III CSBS), and Harikrishna R (IV CSBS) under the guidance of faculty coordinators Mrs. M. Shabana Fathima, AP/CSBS and Dr. M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASP & Head/CSBS.
