DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery is the world's largest educational and scientific society, uniting computing educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges. ACM strengthens the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence. ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking. Student and Professional Chapters are important components of ACM India. We have 195 student chapters and 16 professional chapters nationwide, including the Special Interest Group and ACM-W chapters, with the dual objective of creating a healthy competition among chapters and working toward a social cause.
Our Institute has started as an ACM Student Chapter in the year 2022. We also have student chapters comprising of more than 10 students and 3 faculty members in this forum of computer professionals. We plan to actively contribute to the growth of Computer professionals by organizing various events like Coding Contests, Workshops, Seminars, and Technical Talks and etc.

Events Organized 2023 - 2024
The Value Added Course on Business Application Project Development using C programming in association with ACM student chapter was organised from 19.02.2024 to 22.02.2024 for a batch of I year B.Tech CSBS students. Around 15 students were gained knowledge about C Programming .This event was handled by the faculty members of department of CSBS. They trained the students practically in basic fundamentals of C programming, Looping techniques, learning about variables, data types, conditional statements in C language. This event was organised by the student co-ordinators Ms.K.Nithikashree and Mr.G.Kathirvel from I Year CSBS and faculty Co-ordinators Dr.S.Erana Verappa Dinesh and Mrs.B.Yazhini under the guidance of Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, Head/CSBS.

Department of CSE, Ramco Institute of Technology, in association with ACM Student Chapter and CSI Students Chapter, organized a Five Day Short Term Training Programme on DevOps during 05-09 February, 2024. Mr.R.Sathish and Mr.Gautham from Trusty Bytes provided hands-on training on Devops to 12 Faculty members and 31students from various institutions. The programme started with a formal inaugural function, and the following sessions were handled by Mr.R.Sathish and Mr.Gautham. In this training programme, the faculties and students were equipped with new skills in Cloud Services, Git Repo and Versioning, Maven, Pipelining, Gradle and Ansible playbook. They were also provided with hands-on training and briefed about industrial applications, career opportunities, and mini projects. The participants expressed that the training was very much interesting and informative. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. The Training Programme was coordinated by Mr.C.A.Yogaraja, AP/CSE, Ms.G.Sakthi Priya,AP/CSE and Mrs.F.Twinkle Graf, AP/CSE with support of Ms.KB.Uthra, TPO and guidance from Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE.

RIT ACM students chapter organized the Knowledge sharing session on Phishing Attack using Metasploit Framework in Mobile Devices to the I and II year students of CSE, CSBS and IT ACM Students members on 04th December 2022. Mr.Manojkumar of I year CSBS students shared his knowledge and demonstrated on the phishing attack in mail and mobile devices using metasploit framework to his peer group of students in ACM Forum. The event was organised by Mr.Sanjay, II CSE, Ms.U.Thanishka Shree, II IT and Ms.A. Sri Janani, II CSBS. 24 students of II and I year CSBS and I year IT participated and interacted with their peers.
