DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery is the world's largest educational and scientific society, uniting computing educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges. ACM strengthens the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence. ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking. Student and Professional Chapters are important components of ACM India. We have 195 student chapters and 16 professional chapters nationwide, including the Special Interest Group and ACM-W chapters, with the dual objective of creating a healthy competition among chapters and working toward a social cause.
Our Institute has started as an ACM Student Chapter in the year 2022. We also have student chapters comprising of more than 10 students and 3 faculty members in this forum of computer professionals. We plan to actively contribute to the growth of Computer professionals by organizing various events like Coding Contests, Workshops, Seminars, and Technical Talks and etc.

The Department of Information Technology, Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, in association with the ACM Student Chapter and ISTE Student Chapter organised a One-day National-Level Workshop on AI-Powered Low Code and No Code Development Platforms on 25.10.2025 in hybrid mode. The Chief Guest and Resource Person for the event is Mr.T. Karkuvelraja, Associate Vice President, Vibhathi Labs, Chennai, and an Oracle ACE Professional known for his expertise in Oracle-based enterprise application development. Around 120 students from various departments of Ramco Institute of Technology and other colleges participated in the event. Under the directions of Dr. V. Anusuya, Associate Professor & Head/IT , the ACM Faculty Coordinator Dr.K.Palraj, ASP/IT and the ISTE Faculty Coordinator Mrs.A.Alagulakshmi, AP/IT and the faculty In-charges Mrs.G.Sivasathiya,AP/IT and Mrs. B.Thevahi,AP/IT along with the student coordinators have successfully structured and completed the event.

The Department of Information Technology, in association with ACM Student Chapter jointly organized an Guest Lecture on Enterprise Application Development on 03.10.2025 for ACM Student members from III yr and II Year IT at Civil Seminar Hall. The Resource person of the guest lecture was Mr. A. Selvakumar, Senior Software Engineer, Changepond Technologies, Chennai. Around 65 students were actively participated in this guest lecturer. He discussed various aspects of enterprise application development, including real-time case studies, tools, and technologies used in the industry. Adoption of Spring Boot for rapid enterprise application development, focusing on its features like embedded servers, auto-configuration, and simplified dependency management. The students expressed that the lecture was highly informative and enhanced their knowledge of advanced software engineering concepts. The guest lecture was successfully organized and accomplished by the ACM student coordinators Thanishka Shree U, IV Year IT and Poornima A III Year IT. Ms. Pooja Shree S delivered the welcome address and Murugalakshmi V Introduced the Chief Guest and at the end of the session, Surulivelan M gave vote of thanks. This seminar was organized by Dr. K. Palraj ASP/IT and Mrs G.Sivasathiya AP / IT , under the guidance of Dr. V. Anusuya, HOD/IT.

The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems, RIT, inaugurated the TECHNEBIZ Association with ACM on 08 October 2025 (Wednesday). Mr. Venkatesh, Senior Manager, Central Bank of India, Rajapalayam, served as the Chief Guest and delivered the inaugural address. He also presented a guest lecture on Unlock Your Career: How to Prepare and Succeed in Competitive Exams. A total of 140 students from the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems participated in the inaugural function. The resource person covered topics such as exam patterns, high-yield subjects, time-management strategies, structured study plans, stress-management techniques, and best practices for exam day. The event was successfully coordinated by student members Ms.S.Priyadharshini(IV year CSBS),Ms.A.Sri Janani (IV CSBS), Ms. K. T. Akshaya (IV Year CSBS), Ms. S. Suchithra (III Year CSBS) and Ms. P. Vasudhakamalam (II Year CSBS) under the faculty co-ordinators of Dr. M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASP, Head/CSBS, Mrs.M.Rekha AP/CSBS and Mrs B.Yazhini,AP/CSBS

The RITACM Student Chapter arranged a guest lecture on Navigating the Future: Fintech Regulation and Its Impact on Banking on 08 October 2025 (Wednesday ) by Mrs. B. Isai Nila, Assistant Manager, Central Bank of India, Rajapalayam. The session gave an enlightened overview of the changing global regulatory environment for Fintech and its increasing impact on the banking world. She spoke on key themes such as digital payments, blockchain, AI-powered financial services, growing compliance needs in the financial ecosystem, and related topics. A total of 140 students participated in this session.The event was coordinated by student members Ms. S. Priyadharshini (IV Year CSBS) and Ms. A. Sri Janani (IV Year CSBS).under the guidance of faculty coordinators Mrs. B. Yazhini, AP/CSBS and Dr. M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASP & Head/CSBS.
