The Institution of Engineers (India) IE(I) is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen) engineering disciplines, and serving the nation for more than 9 decades. Our Institute has joined as an Institutional member of Institution of Engineers (India) in the year 2014. IE(I) student chapter is established on 07.08.2015.Totally 94 students are members in IE(I) student chapter.

Academic Year 2019-2020

IE(I) student chapter in association with IEEE conducted an event Technical Quiz in PSS Lab on 23.09.2019, between 03.20 PM and 04.10 PM. The students actively participated in this event. The event was organized by A .S.Vigneshwar, A. Arun Kumar AP/EEE and event was conducted by G. Harish Kumar, final year EEE.

IE(I) student chapter conducted an event Quantitative Aptitude in PSS Lab on 21.08.2019, between 03.20 PM and 04.10 PM. The students actively participated in this event. The event was organized by A. S. Vigneshwar, AP/EEE, D. Karthik Prabhu, AP(SG)/EEE.

IE(I) student chapter conducted an event Crack the Puzzle in PSS Lab on 28.08.2019, between 03.20 PM and 04.10 PM. The students have actively participated in the event. The event was organized by A .S. Vigneshwar, AP/EEE, D. Karthik Prabhu, AP(SG)/EEE.

A Field Visit was arranged for the second year EEE students on 02.08.2019 at RIT - Power House from 01.25 PM to 02.15 PM. The students were accompanied by Mr. D. Karthik Prabhu, AP(SG)/EEE and Mr. A. S. Vigneshwar, AP/EEE.

The Short term course on Arduino Programming were conducted to second-year EEE students by IE(I) students chapter from 17.06.19 to 21.06.19. The entire course was handled by faculty members from EEE department. The students were actively participated in the event.

IE(I) organizes a Guest Lecture on "Real World Applications of Digital Signal Processing and Importance of Digital Signal Processing" for the III and IV year B.E. EEE students on 17.08.2019. Mr. M. Muralikumar, (Alumnus 2013-17 Batch) Engineer, Firmware Design and Development, Data Patterns India Pvt. Ltd, Chennai delivered sessions.

Academic Year 2018-2019

The Short term course on Core Java were conducted to third year EEE students by IE(I) students chapter from 03.04.19 to 08.04.19. The entire course was handled by faculty members from CSE department. The students were actively participated in the event.

A guest lecture titled, Energy Conservation was organized by IE(I) student chapter on 04.03.2019. The speaker for this seminar is Dr. V. Rajasekaran M.E., Ph.D., Professor & Head, Dept. of EEE, PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul,. The students from second, third, fourth year are had participated in this seminar.

Quantitative Aptitude competition were conducted by IE(I) students chapter on July 27, 2018 from 04.10 PM to 05.00 PM for III year EEE students. Totally 43 students actively participated in this competition. Also the same competition has been conducted by IE(I) students chapter in September 06, 2018 from 04.10 PM to 05.00 PM for IV year EEE students. Totally 36 students actively participated in this competition.

Technical Quiz competition conducted by IE(I) students chapter on September 14, 2018 from 04.10 PM to 05.00 PM for II, III, IV year EEE students. Totally 46 students from II, III, IV year EEE students were actively participated in this competition.

IE(I) student chapter arranged a one day seminar on Energy Conservation in Home and Small Office on 25 March 2017 at EEE seminar hall. Mr.V.Saravanan, Associate Professor, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai gave a special lecture about energy conversation methodologies. All the lab technicians from various departments, faculty members and students of the EEE department attended and benefited by the lecture.

IE(I) student chapter conducted an event Line Follower for I, II and III year EEE students. The objective of the contest was for a robot to follow a black line on a white background, without losing the line. The robot has to complete the course in a shortest period of time from start to finish. 15 teams from I, II and III year EEE participated in this event.
