DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery is the world's largest educational and scientific society, uniting computing educators, researchers and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges. ACM strengthens the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence. ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking. Student and Professional Chapters are important components of ACM India. We have 195 student chapters and 16 professional chapters nationwide, including the Special Interest Group and ACM-W chapters, with the dual objective of creating a healthy competition among chapters and working toward a social cause.
Our Institute has started as an ACM Student Chapter in the year 2022. We also have student chapters comprising of more than 10 students and 3 faculty members in this forum of computer professionals. We plan to actively contribute to the growth of Computer professionals by organizing various events like Coding Contests, Workshops, Seminars, and Technical Talks and etc.

Events Organized 2022-2023

Department of Computer Science and Engineering and ACM Student Chapter organized the event Situation Manager for I Year CSE A and B students on 04.07.2023. 21 I Year CSE students were participated in the event. The event was coordinated by Ms.G.Atchaya, Ms.K.S.Sakthideeksha, Ms.K.Dheetchana, Ms.C.Shakeythyaa, I year CSE students. The winners of the event are Ms.P.Kiruthiga and Ms.S.Malini, I CSE A. The event was coordinated by the faculty members Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam and Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi.

A six day Value Added Course on Virtualization and Azure Cloud was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Association with ACM Student chapter from 20.06.2023 to 26.06.2023 for II year B.E. Computer Science and Engineering students in the Project Laboratory. Mr. S.Gavaskar, Developer Advocate, Multicloud4U was the resource person. The event was coordinated by Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, Associate Professor, CSE and K.Jeyageetha, Assistant Professor, CSE. The student coordinators are Ms.K.M.Architha II CSE, Mr.R.Vijayasarathy II CSE.

The department of CSE in association with RIT_CSE ACM Student chapter organized the guest lecture on Network Automation and Cyber Security from 03rd March 2023 to 04th March 2023.Mr.R.Balaji, Advanced Cyber Security Architect, Honeywell Pvt. Ltd., Singapore was the resource person of the guest lecture. Ms.J.Muthulakshmi, II CSE and Ms.S.Swetha Sri, II CSE coordinated the event the under the guidance of the Faculty Coordinator Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, ASP/CSE.139 students of I year, II year and III year CSE students were participated and got benefited.

The department of CSE in association with RIT_CSE ACM Student chapter organized the Value Added Course on Network Security and Blockchain from 23rd Jan 2023 to 25th Jan 2023 to the III year B.E.CSE Students. Dr.Jay Bagga, Ph.D, Professor/Computer Science, Ball State University, Munncie, Indiana, USA was the resource person of the course and delivered the lecture in the area of Network Security and Blockchain. R. Shamiksha, II/CSE & Mr. R. Vijaysarathy, II/CSE coordinated the event under the guidance of the faculty coordinators M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASCP/CSE & Mr. K. Vignesh Saravanan, AP(SG)/CSE. 62 students of III year CSE students were participated and got benefited.

The department of CSE in association with RIT_CSE ACM Student chapter organized the two days skill development programme on Office Process Automation during 3rd Jan 2023 and 4th Jan 2023 for the Technicians, Non-Teaching staffs and Office staffs of both internal and external. The event was organized by the Ms.S.Swethsri, II CSE and Ms.J.Muthulakshmi, II CSE are student coordinators. The faculty coordinator of the event was Dr.K.Vivekrabinson, AP/CSE and Mrs.G.Mareeswari, AP/CSE. 39 staffs from Rajapalayam Rajus College, Kalsalingam Unviersity and Internal faculty members participated in the skill development programme and got benefited. The resource persons for the event was Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, ASP/CSE and Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP(SG)/CSE

RIT_CSE ACM students chapter organized the Adzap Exhibit Contest to the I year students of IT on 11thNovember 2022. The event was organised by Mr. AsuthoshSakka Raja, II CSE, Mr.SundaraMahalingam, II CSE and Mr.Vijayasarathy, II CSE. 24 students were participated. Mr.Sundaramahalingam of II CSE introduced and explained the details about the events to the students

RIT_CSE ACM students chapter organized the algorithm writing contest to the II and III year students of CSE on 29th Sep 2022. The event was organised by Mr. Harish, II CSE and Ms.Anitharani, II CSE. 56 students were participated in the first round and only 20 students were shortlisted for the second round. Me. R.Harsha, III CSE and Mr.M.VigneshPrabhu, II. CSE won I prize,Ms.K.Thilothamai, II CSE won II prize and MS.M.K.Divya, III CSE &Mr. S. JeyaAravindh, II CSE won III prize in the second round.
