Computer Society of India
Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of Computer Professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. Our Institute has joined as an Institutional Member of the Computer Society of India in the year 2014. We also have student chapters comprising of more than 75 students in this forum of computer professionals. Our Institute actively contributing to the growth of Computer professionals by organizing various events like Coding Contests, Workshops, Seminars, and Technical Talks. Knowledge Dissemination meeting is happening every fortnight to discuss the contributions in CSI Communications.

Events Organized in 2021-2022
Technical Content Writing Event was organized by CSI students chapter on 26.02.2022 in order to celebrate National Science Day. The Students Started to create the soft copy of Technical content in various recent topics like Cloud Computing, AI/ML, Block Chain Technology and etc. The event was coordinated by Ms.V.S. Vaishnavi, III CSE Ms. Harini, III CSE Mr.N. Dhiraj, II CSE Mr. A.Muthusamy, I CSE. 24 students of I year CSE were participated and Subhiksha.V of I year CSE won First prize and Kiruthika B of I year CSE won II Prize.
Technical Connection Event was organized by CSI students chapter on 26.02.2022 in order to celebrate National Science Day. The two rounds are organized in this round. In the first round, basic level technical connections pictures are shown in the PPT. The participants are answered in rounded manner. In second round, rapid firing questions are asked from Python programming. The event was coordinated by Mr.Jothi Lingapandian, II CSE Mr. Gowtham Karthikeyan, II CSE Mr.N. Dhiraj, II CSE and Mr. A.Muthusamy, I CSE. The 14 teams of 28 students in I year CSE were participated.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with CSI organized an Industrial Guest Lecture on Java Collections for III Year ECE, EEE & CSE students and II Year CSE students on 12.01.2022 at 10.30 am. The resource person of the program is Mrs.R.Niranjana Devi, Lead Software Developer, IQBackOffice, Chennai. She started the session with the introduction of collection frameworks in Java. She explained the importance and need of collections and the collections Hierarchy. She discussed the list interface such as ArrayList, LinkedList, Vector and Stack. She described the set interface such as Hash set, LinkedHash Set, Tree Set and map interface. Finally she concluded the session with the places where different collections can be used for solving real world problems. The guest lecture was coordinated by Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi,AP(SG)/CSE, Dr.I.Gethzi Ahila Poornima, AP/CSE and Mrs.S.Manjula, AP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Prof. & Head/CSE.

"Ramco Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Computer Society of India, Rajapalayam organized a Guest Lecture on Computer Networks on 12.11.2021 for III year and IV year students. The objective of the guest lecture was to focus on imparting the depth knowledge in computer networking concepts. The resource person of the guest lecture, Mr. V Ramakrishnan, Partner and Chief Mentor, Adapro Consulting, Bangalore explained the ISO OSI layers of networks and TCP/IP Layers. He further emphasized on the importance of routing, IP addressing, IP v4, subnetting and v6."

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, RIT inaugurated the Computer Society of India Students Chapter on 24.09.2021 (Friday). Mr. Vijay Ramakrishnan, Co-Founder/CTO, of DigitranIT Software Solutions Private Limited, Chennai has the chief guest of the function and delivered the chief guest address. Dr. R.Balamurali, Dean Industry Relation, Co-Founder/COO, has the special guest of the function and he motivated the students to get successful career in their life. One more special guest of the function, Mr. Brabu Nathan, CEO of Brabu Printers, Tuticorin gave the lecture and motivates the students to become entrepreneur in his special address. He also shared his experience as an entrepreneur. Totally 120 student members of Computer Society of India Students Chapter of Department of Computer Science and Engineering have participated in an Inaugural function.

The students chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India organized Debugging the Code event on 15.09.20221, 06.00 PM to 09.PM through online Google Form. The event was organized by Mr.A.Vignesh and Mr.P.Rathesh Praveen of III CSE and Mr.R.Harshanth of II CSE. 35 students of RIT-CSI members are participated in the event. Mr.C.Ivaraj of III CSE won First, Mr.Viswjith Sairam of III CSE Won Second and Mr.Ksihorekumar S & Ms.Swathy Santhosh won third rank in the debugging event. An exception detection based C questions are posted in the Google form. The link is provided to the participants 5 minutes before the commencement of the event.

The students chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India in association with RIT-Clustra organized Technical Debate event on 15.09.20221 in order to celebrate the Engineers day. The topic of the debate is Artificial Intelligence is Boon or ban. 12 students of CSE are participated in the event as two group. One group of members debated about AI is boon and whereas second group of members debated about AI is ban.

The students chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India organized Essay Writing event on 15.09.2021, through online Google Form in order to celebrate the Engineers day. The topic of the essay writing is Engineer and Society. The event was organized by Ms.M.Harini and Ms.M.Malini of III CSE. 10 students of RIT-CSI members are participated in the event.
