The Institution of Engineers (India)-Student Chapter - CSE

• Institute of Engineers (IE) student chapter plays a vital role in enabling the students to have activities of their own for improving technical and soft skills.
• The events like presentations, quizzes, group discussions, and talk on recent technologies and tools are regularly (weekly) held.
• The activities were planned in such a way that all students actively participate at least once in a semester.
• These activities help to prepare and mould the students to face the interviews, develop leadership capabilities, and inculcate their soft skills.

Our Institute has joined as an Institutional member of the Institution of Engineers (India) in the year 2014, the Institutional membership number is IM000312-5. The Institution of Engineers India IE(I) CSE Students Chapter at Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam has been recognized as an authorized student chapter approved by The Institutions of Engineers (India), Kolkata, since October 2019.

The benefits of being a member of the students chapter are the following:

• Opportunity to participate in technical events e.g. Seminars, Symposia, Conventions, Workshops etc. organized by various IEI centres at State, National and International levels at a concessional rate of 20%.
• Access to library facilities at 110 state/local centres of institution across the country.
• Scholarships for selected student members will be given by IEI.
• Journals of IE(I) are available in soft copy through web and hard copy on concessional rate.
• Student members will be given preference in release of grants for their final year project/ thesis work and R & D grant from IEI.

Events Organized During 2023-2024

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the RIT IE(I)-CSE students chapter organized the event "Grouped Debate" for first and second-year CSE 'A' and 'B' students on June 20, 2024. The event aimed to encourage students to express their thoughts in front of others and to improve their communication skills. A total of 21 first and second-year CSE students participated. The event was coordinated by second-year CSE students Ms. M. Poojasri, Ms. V. Abinayashree, Ms. A. Annalakshmi, and Ms. A. S. Aravind. The winners of the event were Ms. P. Swathiga and Mr. N. S. Kathirvel, who secured the first prize. The runners-up were Mr. P. Sanjay, Mr. S. Priyadharsan, Mr. S. Srinivasa Balan, and Ms. P. Pavitra Sree.Faculty member Mrs. S. Vijaya Amala Devi, AP/CSE, coordinated the event under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE. The event received very positive feedback from the students.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE hosted an Aptitude Quiz event on June 14, 2024 was overseen by Mr. A.S. Aravind and Mr. N. Sanjay, both from II CSE. Mrs. S. Vijaya Amala Devi, AP/CSE, efficiently coordinated the session under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE. A total of fifteen students from the first and second years participated in the event, which consisted of two rounds featuring moderated aptitude questions.In the initial round comprising 15 MCQs, participants demonstrated their skills, and based on their performance, six students advanced to the final round. The winners were determined by their scores, with Mr. S. Jeyaseelan (First year) achieving first place and Mr. R. Janaramji (First year) securing the second position. This event not only tested the students' aptitude but also provided a platform for showcasing their knowledge and skills.

The RIT-IE(I) CSE Chapter organized a Poster Design event on Evolution of Technology" to enhance students' design skills. The event, held on May 16, 2024, from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM at Computer Centre Laboratory 4, was orchestrated by the second-year CSE students. Mrs. B. Vijayalakshmi (ASP/CSE) coordinated the event under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi (Professor and Head). A total of 12 enthusiastic first and second-year Computer Science Engineering students participated. The event was successfully managed by student coordinators Ms. M. Harini, Ms. S. Malini, Ms. P. Manishashri, and Ms. J. Shamini.The event concluded with Ms. G. Dhivyabharathi from I Year CSE-B winning first place, while Ms. Pavitra Sree from II CSE-A secured the runner-up position. The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, indicating the event's success in fostering creativity and enhancing design skills

The Student Chapter of IE(I) and RIT CSE successfully organized an Idea Vista event on May 9, 2024. Led by Ms. Poojasri M, Ms. Abinayashree S.V, Ms. AnnaLakshmi A, and Mr. Aravind A.S, second-year CSE students, the event aimed to cultivate creativity and innovation among participants. A total of 22 students from the first and second years actively participated in the program, showcasing their skills and engaging in idea-thinking tasks. The session was efficiently coordinated by Mrs. Gethzi Ahila Poornima, AP/CSE, under the expert guidance of Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE, ensuring smooth execution and maximum engagement. Mr. Saravana Sanjay M and Mr. Saravanan A, first-year students, clinched the first prize for their outstanding contribution and innovative ideas. Ms.Sivasundari.B and Aishwarya.G, the second-year students, secured the second position. In the third place were Ramalaksmi.K and Tharanaa.S, second year students. Overall, the event served as a testament to the institution's commitment to fostering innovation and excellence among its students, paving the way for future endeavors in the field of technology and beyond.

The Student Chapter of RIT Clustra and IE(I)-RIT CSE hosted a captivating online guest lecture as part of the Extramural Lecture Series INT-005. This event, drew the interest of around 63 enthusiastic students. The event was organized by K.M Archita and R.Muthusamy III year CSE.On April 19, 2024, the lecture delved into the topic of "Automation Testing and Tools" and featured insights from two distinguished experts: A. Anton Elsin Visu, Technical Lead at American Express, New York, and A. Agnel Thangadurai, Technical Lead at IBM, Bangalore.
During the session, both speakers generously shared their expertise on automation testing techniques and discussed real-time tools utilized in the field. The event was made possible under the guidance of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. L. Ganesan (Principal), Dr. S. Rajakarunakaran (Vice-principal), Mr. K. S. Selvaraj (GM-A), and Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi (HOD/CSE). The coordination was led by Dr. R. Venkatesh (Associate Professor/CSE) and Mrs. A. Sofia Thanga Mary (AP/CSE). Their collective efforts ensured the smooth organization and success of this enlightening lecture, providing valuable insights to the eager audience of students.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE successfully organized a Guest Lecture titled "A Complete Guide to AWS with DevOps Practices" on April 4, 2024. he event was coordinated by Ms. Muthulakshmi J, Ms. Abinaya S, Ms. Devishenbhaga R, and Ms. I. Annajasmine, all third-year CSE students. The session was coordinated by Mrs.K.Jeyageetha and Mrs.S.Vijaya Amala Devi under the guidance of the Dr.K. Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE. Muthulakshi J, a third-year CSE student, delivered the welcome address, introducing the resource person, Ms. Meena Ramesh, a DevOps Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services. Approximately 63 students actively participated in this informative session. She commenced her lecture by elucidating the fundamentals of Cloud computing, Version control systems, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. She played a pivotal role as the resource person, guiding the attendees through the intricacies of AWS and DevOps practices. The lecture provided valuable insights into effectively harnessing AWS services within the DevOps framework.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE and ISTE organized a Web Weave on 03.04.2024. The event was organized by Ms Sugirthasri B,III CSE,Ms.Abinaya S,III CSE,Ms. Pavitra Sree P II CSE,Ms.Swathiga P, II CSE and Mr.Aravind A.S,II CSE.25 students of I,II and III year actively participated in this program A total of 25 students from various academic years actively participated in the event, engaging in web designing tasks to showcase their skills.The session was coordinated by Mrs.S.Manjula, AP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE. Mr. Stephen, a second-year student, clinched the first prize, while Mr. A. Karthick Sri Ram, also a second-year student, secured the second position. In the third place were Mr. David W Joshua and Mr. A. Ramakrishnan, both first-year students.

Code Clash event was organized by RIT-IE(I) CSE chapter on 28.02.2024, to help the students to improve their coding skills. 3 Zoho questions on Arrays, Strings and Patterns were given to solve using Python programming language. Total of 51 students from 1st Year Computer Science Engineering students were excitedly participated and shown the output to the given set of programs. The panel members (Mrs.M.Dhivya AP/CSE, Ms.G.Sakthi Priya AP/CSE, Mrs.K.Jeyakarthika AP/CSE, Mrs.S.Vijaya Amala Devi AP/CSE ) under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi(Professor and head) evaluated the programs .Mr.N.Ram Kumar and Mr.R. Rishikesh were announced as the winners of the event. The Students feedback about the event was excellent.

The Student Chapter of RIT Clustra and IE(I)-RIT CSE organized a Guest Lecture on Career Guidance on Data Engineering on 10.02.2024. The event was organized by S Abinaya ,K M Architha I.Annajasmine ,And B.Kruthika III CSE students.85 students of first, second and final CSE actively participated in this program. Mr.Manoj Sakkaravarthi Sankaranaranyanan, Principal Data Engineer, Mr. Cooper was the resource person for the guest lecture. The guest lecture on data engineering provided a comprehensive exploration of the key concepts, tools, and challenges in the field of data engineering. The presenter, Mr.Manoj Sakkaravarthi, an expert in the field with Principal Data Engineer, delivered an insightful presentation that covered various aspects of data engineering. The session was organized under the guidance of Dr.L.Ganesan, Principal, Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran, Vice-Principal, Mr.K.S.Selvaraj, GM(A), Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE, coordinated by Dr.R.Venkatesh, Associate Professor/CSE , A.Sofia Thanga Mary AP/CSE and S.Vijaya Amala Devi AP/CSE.

Project Presentation Contest event was organized by RIT-IE(I) CSE chapter, the event was conducted to help the students to develop their creativity and their skill sets. It also boosts their self-esteem, motivates them to become better and makes them mentally strong. Total of 63 students from 2nd Year Computer Science Engineering students were excitedly participated, displayed and demonstrated their projects to the judges panel. The panel members are Dr. R.Venkatesh ASP/CSE, Dr.M.Swarna Sudha ASP/CSE, Dr. I.Getzhi Akila Poornima AP(SG)/CSE, Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi AP(SG)/CSE, Mr.C.A.Yogaraja AP(SG)/CSE, Mrs.S.Manjula AP(SG)/CSE, Ms. P. The event was organized by Ms. R.Deepikasri, Mr.A.S.Aravind,Ms. M.Poojasri and Ms. T.Vijayalakshmi of II CSE on 11.01.2024 at 9:30 to 12.30 AM atthe CSE Seminar hall. The winners of the event were Ms.G. Girisankar and Ms.M.Muthukumar. The runners were Mr.P.Sanjay, Mr.M.Hariharasubramani, Mr.A.Karthick Sri Ram and Mr. P. Sathasin. The Students feedback about the event was excellent.

The Student Chapter of IE(I) and RIT CSE organized a Technical Quiz event on 23.11.2023. The event was organized by Mr. A.S.Aravind II CSE ,Mr.S.Harisivabalan II CSE ,Ms.B.Hemalatha II CSE, Ms. K M .Hemapriyah II CSE, Ms.K.Pradeepa II CSE, Ms.S.Srinivasabalan II CSE. 20 students of II Year CSE participated in the event. The event consists of 2 rounds. The participants are provided with moderated level technical questions from the subjects like OOPS, DBMS, Data Structures etc., The first round which consists of 30 MCQ Questions. Based on the performance in first rounds, 6 students were shortlisted for the second round. Time limitation is followed in this event. The judges of the event are Mrs.K. Jeyakarthika. The students who got maximum marks were awarded as winner and runners.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE organized a Technical mock interview on Data structures and object oriented programming on 15.12.2023. The event was organized by Ms. B.Hemalatha, II CSE,Ms. K.M.HemaPriyah, II CSE and Ms.T.vijayalakshmi, II CSE. 18 students of II CSE A and II CSE B actively participated in this program. Dr.K.vijayalakshmi, Prof and Head/ CSE, Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, AP (SG)/CSE, Ms.P.Jothi Thilaga, AP(SG)/CSE and Ms.G.Sakthi Priya, AP/CSE acted as a panel members. The participants were asked with basic to advanced level technical interview questions on the data structures and object oriented programming concepts. The session was coordinated by Ms.G. Sakthi Priya, AP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE, , Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran, Vice principal and Dr.L.Ganesan, Principal. Ms. V.Kavya and Mr.A.Karthick Sri Ram, won the event, Ms.K.M.Hemapriyaah won the second prize , Ms.K Dheetchana, Ms.T.Vijayalakshmi and Ms.R.Tharini 3rd year CSE, became third place in the event.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE was organized an Error Hunting event on 31.10.2023. The event was organized by Ms. K. Kamini,IV CSE,Ms. V. Karunya IV CSE, Ms. Ms.Malini,A and Ms.Gokila G. 25 students of III Year CSE participated in the event. the event has one round and students participated individually. The event was to create an e-commerce page using the figma. Time limitation is followed in this event. The judges of the event are Dr. R. Venkatesh AP/CSE and Mr.C.Yogaraja AP/CSE. The students who got maximum marks were awarded as winner and runners. Mr.Arun Prasanth S, 3rd year CSE, won the event, Ms.Devi Shenbhaga R,Mr.A.Muthusamy 3rd year CSE won second prize and Ms.Swathi K,Ms.Thangaselvi, 3rd year CSE, became third place in the event.

The Department of CSE, Ramco Institute of Technology in association with Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE organized a Bugs Begone event on 19.10.2023. The event was organized by Ms.L.Bowya of IV CSE, Ms. S.Abinaya of III CSE, Ms.I.Annajasmine of III CSE and Ms.K.M.HemaPriyah of II CSE. 25 students of II Year CSE participated in the event. The Bugs Begone consists of 2 rounds. The participants are provided with moderated level technical questions from the subjects like Python and C. The first round which consists of 10 Questions. Based on the performance in first rounds, 4 students were shortlisted for the second round. The second round consist of 10 programs with errors, students need to find the error and produce the correct output. The marks are awarded to the students based on the number of programs they solved. The students who solved maximum programs were awarded as winner and runners. Mr. G GiriShankar 2nd year CSE B, won the event, Mr. S.Madhujith 2nd CSE B and Mr. A. S.Aravind 2nd CSE A, runner up in the event.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE organized a Prompt Engineering and Copilot on 23.09.2023. The event was organized by Ms. G.Sarana Jothi,IV CSE,Ms. L.Bowya IV CSE and Ms.M.K.Dhivya. 63 students of Final CSE actively participated in this program. Mr.Rajkumar Sankaranaranyanan, Senior Consultant, WNS Global Services Pvt Ltd. was the resource person for the guest lecture. The participants are exposed to Prompt Engineering and Copilot. Additionally, he provided a thorough explanation of whether or not the ChatGBT model performs better than a coder. The sessions were coordinated by Ms.Sakthi Priya, AP/CSE, and Dr.I.GethziAhila Poornima, AP(SG)/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE, Dr.L.Ganesan, Principal, Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran, Vice principal, and Mr.K.S.Selvaraj, GM(A).

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and RIT IE(I)-CSE students chapter organized the event Codeathon for III Year CSE students on 31.08.2023. The students were separated into two groups based on their interests in Udemy and Leetcode courses. The event was conducted in the motto of III year students to practice coding knowledge. Totally 55 III Year CSE students participated in the event. The event was coordinated by M.U.Haridharshana and S.Balaji of III year CSE, along with them the final year placed students were also took part of this event and evaluated the performance of the students outputs.. The winners of the Codeathon (LeetCode) event were A.Muthusamy, S.Jeya Aravinth, P.B.Asuthosh Sakka Raja and the winners of the Codeathon (udemy) event were K.Thilothamai, P.Sundara Mahalingam, D.Arockiya Jegadeesh Raj, S.Sumesh Pathi. The event was coordinated by the faculty members Mrs.S.Manjula and Ms.P.Jothi Thilaga.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and RIT IE(I)-CSE students chapter organized the event Debate for I Year CSE A and B students on 04.07.2023. The event was conducted in the motto of I year students to speak in front of others about their thoughts and to improve their communication skills. Totally 20 I Year CSE students participated in the event. The event was coordinated by Enba Sankar S, Harihara Subramani M, Nesamanikandan S, Muthukumar M of I year CSE students. The winners of the event were ASHWATH V, JANARTHANAVEL S, PRIYADHARSHAN S, GOPALAKRISHNAN G.K. The event was coordinated by the faculty members Mrs.S.Manjula and Mrs.G.Mareeswari. The students provide very good feedback about the event.

The event Website Development Contest was organized by RIT IE(I) CSE student chapter, in which the participants were instructed to prepare a Website for a given theme and present. The participant of the event was II year CSE, III year CSE students. There were totally 19 students participated in this contest. The event was organized by IE(I)-CSE student members Mr. K.Muthukumar (III CSE),Ms.M.Kartheeswari (II CSE), Ms.B.Kiruthika(II CSE), Ms.M.Kowsalya(II CSE), on 24.04.2023 at 04.00 pm to 05.00 pm at Tyco Lab. The winner of the event was Ms.G.Lakshmi Priya of III year CSE, Ms.T. Pooja Lakshmi of III year CSE and the runners of the event were Mr. K.J.Gopiy of III year CSE, Mr. N.Dhiraj of III year CSE. The students gave very good feedback about the event.

Resume Building Contest was organized by RIT IE(I) CSE student chapter, in which the participants were instructed to prepare a sample resume and present. The participant of the event was I year CSE, CSBS, IT students. There were totally 17 students participated in this contest. The event was organized by IE(I)-CSE student members Mr. J. Paranthaman of III CSE, Ms. K. Pavithra of III CSE, Ms.I. Anna Jasmine of II CSE, Ms. R. Devishenbaga of II CSE on 01.03.2023 and 04.03.2023 at 011.00 am to 03.00 pm at CSE seminar Hall. The winner of the event was Ms. Sanjanasri. T of I year CSBS and the runners of the event were Mr. E. Yogeswar of I year CSE-A, Ms. S. Priyadharshini of I year CSBS and Ms. A. Sri Janani of I year CSBS. The students gave very good feedback about the event.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with IE student chapter and RIT Placement Centre, organized one Day Workshop on "Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform (Power Apps" for 2nd year CSE Students on 11.02.2023. The resource person of the workshop was Mr. R.Vinoth Kumar Senior Application Developer, ADP India. 63 students of II Year CSE actively participated in this workshop. The resource person gave a lecture on overview of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform and gave a hands on session. The participants expressed that the workshop was very much interesting and informative Ms.M.Shanmuga Priya, Ms.A.Praveena, Mr.M.Maheshkumar, Mr.A.Vishnu are the student coordinators in organizing the event. The workshop was coordinated by faculty in charges Mrs.G.Mareeswari, AP/CSE, Mrs.T.Shruthi, AP/CSE and Mrs.K.Jeyagetha, AP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K. Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE.

Project Contest event was organized by RIT IE(I) CSE chapter on 10.02.2023 at CSE Seminar Hall at 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM., the event was conducted to help the students to develop their creativity and their skill sets. It also boosts their self-esteem, motivates them to become better and makes them mentally strong. Total of 15 students from 2nd,3d and 4th Year Computer Science Engineering students were excitedly participated, displayed and demonstrated their projects to the judge's | panel. The event was organized by Mr. Sivakumar M III CSE, Ms.Lakshmipriya G II CSE, Ms. Bowya L II CSE, Ms. B. Sugirthasri II CSE. The winners of the event were Mr. Harsha R (II CSE), Mr. Muthukumar. K (III CSE), and the runners were Mr. Dhiraj. N (I CSE), Mr. K.J. Gopiy (I CSE). The student's feedback about the event was excellent.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE planned to organize Aptitude Quiz on Every Monday. On behalf of that, on 06.02.2023 aptitude quiz was conducted on the topic of Profit and Loss. The Student Co-ordinators of the event are Mr. Lokesh Iyyappan A of IV CSE, Mr. K. Dinesh Kumar of IV CSE, Ms. Sangeetha P of IV CSE and Ms. Vidhya V of IV CSE. 62 students of IV Year CSE participated in the quiz. The aptitude quiz consist of 30 questions and time limit is 30 minutes. Following the quiz completion, the answer discussion was held. The students gave very good feedback about the event.

Department of CSE, IT, CSBS in association with IE(I)-CSE organized 5 Days Workshop on Linux Architecture and Commands for I Year CSE, IT, CSBS Students on (15,17,19,21,23 December 2022 during 03.00 PM to 05.00 PM. 39 students from I year CSE, IT, CSBS participated in this event. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. R. Venkatesh AP(SG)/CSE and Mrs. G. Mareeswari AP/CSE. The workshop is conducted for 5 days and at the end of the last day assessment is conducted based on Linux commands. The feedback from the students regarding the event was excellent.

Department of CSE in association with IE(I)-CSE organized 5 Days Workshop on Communication Methodology for I Year CSE, IT, CSBS Students on (15,17,19,21,23 December 2022 during 03.00 PM to 05.00 PM. 12 students from I year CSE, IT, CSBS participated in this event. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. I. Getzhi Ahila Poornima AP/CSE and Dr. K. Vivekrabinson AP/CSE. The workshop is conducted for 5 days and at the end of the last day feedback is collected from the participants. The students gave very good feedback about the event.

Department of CSE in association with IE(I), CSE organized Group Discussion for II Year CSE Students on 02.12.2022 during 02.15 PM to 04.00 PM. 59 students from II year participated in this event. The Group discussion comprises two rounds. In round 1, group discussion is conducted for 6 batches on recent topics. From each batch 2 students were shortlisted for round 2. The round 2 group discussion is conducted on the topic of Does College Education really prepares students for Job. All the students were actively participated. Haridharshana M U won first prize, K M Architha and Shobika R won second prize, Asuthosh Sakka Raja P B and Kowsalya M won third prize in this event. The entire event was organized by Shanmugapriya M, Sugirthasri B of II year CSE and Saravana Jothi G, Sivakumar M of III year CSE.

Technophilia Event organized by RIT IE(I) CSE students chapter, the event has two rounds and students participated in this event as Batch. The first round is Flick and Tech in which the students are exposed with set of images. The participant need to find out the technologies used in that particular image. The second round is Logo Puzzle in which the contestants are provided with some logos (company logos, software logos) in partial. The participant need to find the maximum number of correct logos. Time limitation is followed in this event. The event was organized by Ms. Shobika. R, Ms. Kruthika B, Ms. Abinaya. S, Ms. Kartheeswari. M of II year CSE on 11.11.2022 at 03.00 pm to 04.00 pm at CSE A class room. 45 students of CSE - A participated in the event. The team members of winning batch was Mr. R. Paper Presentation Event was organized by RIT IE(I) CSE chapter, in which the participants were provided with some important topics need for society like Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Responsible consumption and production. The event was organized by Ms. Yuvaasri R.K, Ms.Vidhya. V, Ms. Sangeetha. P, Mr. Kishore Kumar. S, Mr. Lokesh Iyyapan. A of Final Year CSE on 09.11.2022 at 09.00 am to 12.00 pm at their respective class room. For each class separate judges were assigned to evaluate the performance of participants. One batch of winners was chosen from each class. The winners of the event were Mr. Aswath. V (CSE-A), Ms. Thanishka Shree. U, Ms. Aarthi. G, Ashmitha. K. V batch from IT, Mr. Advaith.K. S, Mr. Karthick. M. S, Mr. Karthikeyan. K from CSE B, Mr. Sakthivel. R, Anandha Bharathi. N, Mr. Aravind Raj. P from CSBS.

The Student Chapter of IE(I)-RIT CSE organized an Error Hunting event on 07.11.2022. The event was organized by Mr. Lokesh Iyyappan A of IV CSE, Mr. M. Sathyanarayanan B of III CSE, Ms. Thanga Selvi S and Ms. Shanmuga Priya of II CSE. 50 students of II Year CSE participated in the event. The Error Hunting consists of 2 rounds. The participants are provided with moderated level technical questions from the subjects like Python and C. The first round which consists of 20 MCQ Questions. Based on the performance in first rounds, 17 students were shortlisted for the second round. The second round consist of 5 programs with errors and sample output, students need to find the error and produce the correct output. The marks are awarded to the students based on the number of programs they solved. The students who solved maximum programs were awarded as winner and runners. M. Vignesh Prabhu, 2nd year CSE, won the event, M. Jothi Lingapandiyan 3rd year CSE and S.Selvaruba, 2nd year CSE, became runner up in the event.

The Department of CSE, Ramco Institute of Technology in association with IE (I) Student Chapter CSE organized IDEATHON for II and III year CSE students on 30.09.2022. The students are encouraged to give the proposed ideas of their own problem statement. They presented their innovative ideas to the judges. Judges of the event are Dr. Erana Veerapa Dinesh S AP/CSE, Dr. Vivekrabinson K AP/CSE, Mr. Dhamodharan AP/CSE. The Faculty Coordinator of the event is Mrs. G.Mareeswari, AP/CSE. The student coordinators of the event are Sangeetha P IV CSE, Dhiraj III CSE, Muthusamy II CSE and Mahesh Kumar II CSE among the 10 teams presented their ideas, 5 teams are screened for further presentation of workflow of their idea. The winners are Harsha R, Muthukumar K, Muthu Brijesh R III CSE. The runners are Thilothamai K, Muthulakshmi M , Aswini Bala S II CSE. The students gave very good feedback about the Ideathon event.

The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) Student Chapter CSE organized an Industrial Guest Lecture on Java Spring Boot Microservices for 60 students of II Year CSE students on 24.12.2021 at 09.30 am. Mr.T.N.Nivek, Software Engineer, Cognizant, Coimbatore, is the program's resource person. He began the session by introducing the environment used in industry via SDLC, the different types of software applications, and the evolution of Spring Boot. He described the required knowledge and software for developing a Java Spring Boot Microservices application and demonstrated how to build a simple application. Finally, he concluded the session by executing the developed application on the server and encouraging the students to develop applications in the same manner. The guest lecture was coordinated by Mrs.N.Nithya, AP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Professor & Head/CSE.

The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) Student Chapter CSE organized Guest Lecture on Industrial Applications of Data Structures on 08th January 2022 from 10.30 AM to 12:00 Noon for the II Year CSE & ECE Students. The resource person was Mr.S.Anand, Software Development Engineer, Paypal. He started the session with introduction about array, linked list and random memory access. He explained about the applications of array, linked list, stack and queue data structures with examples for each data structures. He described about different algorithmic techniques. He further highlighted on the importance of data structures concepts in real-time problem solving. Also he elaborated about the differences and constraints of each data structures with appropriate applications. He also shared about several online courses and contests related to data structures and algorithms to the students. Finally, he concluded the session by shared the usage and applications of data structures in industry projects. The guest lecture was coordinated by Dr.V.Anusuya, ASCP/CSE, Ms.P.Jothi Thilaga, AP/CSE and Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Prof. & Head/CSE. Total of 80+ students attended the session and they expressed that the session was very useful to know about the usage of Data Structures concepts in IT Industry.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Institution of Engineers (India) CSE organized a Guest Lecture for the Subject CS8791 Cloud Computing on Google App Engine for IV year CSE students on 21.11.2021 at 10.00 am. The session was started with welcome address by Ms.M.B.Sridharshini, Student, IV CSE and Ms. P.Sabna Devi, Student, IV CSE introduced the resource person. The resource person of the program is Mr.P.Kumarasamy, AWS, Google Certified Cloud Architect, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He started his lecture from virtualization and explained about the basic introduction of Cloud computing, various service and deployment model of Cloud computing and he demonstrated to deploy the .net application in Google App Engine. 73 students of both IV year, I year and IE(I)-CSE members got benefited. Finally the session was ended with vote of thanks by Ms.S.Vijayalakshmi, Student, IV CSE. The guest lecture was coordinated by Dr.V.Anusuya, ASCP/CSE and Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, ASCP/CSE under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Prof. & Head, CSE.

The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) Student Chapter CSE organized Crack the Quants for II and III year CSE students on 13.10.2021. The students are encouraged to apply their knowledge about aptitude to answer the questions in person and answer must be given within the alloted time for each question. It is a type of team work event.Ms. Annlyn Sarah J P, III CSE and Mr. Viswajith Saairam S K, III CSE are the coordinators of the event.The winners are Lokesh Iyyapan, Kanthimathinathan, Dinesh Kumar, Mohamed Shehin, Krishna Srinivas, III CSE (One team). The students gave very good feedback about the Aptitude questions asked on event.

The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) Student Chapter CSE organized Java Technical Quiz for II and III year CSE students on 30.08.2021. The students are encouraged to apply their knowledge about java to answer the questions in the Google form and submit within the given time. Department of CSE in association with IE(I) CSE student Chapter, conducted the Committee Meeting with all the members of the IE(I) CSE student chapter. 25 students from IE(I) CSE student Chapter attended the meeting. The committee members discussed and planned to give awareness and bring new members into IE(I) CSE student chapter membership.
The Secretary of IE(I) CSE student chapter, Mr.S.Kishore kumar, III year CSE, welcomed all the members. The Treasure of IE(I) CSE student chapter, Ms.Sangeetha, III year CSE, listed out the Office Bearers list and described their roles and responsibilities.
The Joint-Secretary of IE(I) CSE student chapter, Ms.V.Vidhya elaborated the list of activities so far organized as a part of IE(I) CSE student chapter and she also discussed the action plan for the upcoming events. Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE joined the committee meeting and encouraged the students to organize many events through this forum. Ms.Yuvaasri, III year CSE, Member of IE(I) CSE student chapter concluded with the formal Vote of Thanks.

The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) Student Chapter CSE organized Confusion Talkover for I year, II year and III year CSE students on 26.04.2021. Participants will be given some topic. For each topic Coordinators will dictate list of words related and unrelated to that particular topic fastly. Participants has to note the related words alone and fill it in the google form. The one who find more related words will be announced as winner. Ms.Rahini G III CSE, Ms.Shalini P, III CSE, Mr.Sivabalan M III CSE, Ms.Vidhya V II CSE and Ms.Yuvaasri R K II CSE are the coordinators of the event. Department of CSE in association with IE(I) CSE students chapter organized Short term course on Predictive and User-Behavior analysis using Python during 22-27 February, 2021. 30 participants attended the session. The resource people for this Short term course are Dr.M.kaliappan, Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, Mrs.M.Swarna Sudha, Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, Mrs.N.Nithya and Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan. Department of CSE in association with IE(I) Students Chapter organized C Programming Course for Civil, EEE, ECE, Mechanical department Faculty Members from 06 Jan.-12 Feb.,2021. EEE-10, ECE-21, MECH-2 Faculty Members completed the course. Mrs.M.Swarna Sudha, AP(SG)/CSE and Mr.K.V.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE handled the session. Mrs.S.Manjula, AP/CSE and Ms.P.Jothi Thilaga, AP/CSE posted Quiz in canvas at the end of every session. Dr.V.Anusuya, AP(SG)/CSE and Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, AP(SG)/CSE posted Hackerrank questions every day. Final Assessment was conducted on 13 Feb.,2021 and certificates were provided to all the participants.

The Department of CSE in association with the IE (I) CSE student chapter organized a 4-week Coding challenge CODE-FIESTA for II year, III year, and IV year students of all departments from 14.12.2020 to 08.01.2021 through an online Hacker-rank platform. The students/participants are separated into three levels (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced). At each level daily programs (problem statements) are posted with different complexity. The students are given 10 hours time from 10.00 am to 08.00 pm. After the 4 week contest, the top performers are declared as the Winners based on their scores and minimum completion time. More than 100+ students have participated actively throughout all the week's challenges. Students of III CSE are the coordinators of this event. Mr.N.Athivigneshkumar, II CSE (Basic level), Mr.Nanneboina Sumanth, III CSE, Ms.P.Kiruthika, III ECE (Intermediate level), Shiva Ganesh, IV EEE (Advanced level) are the winners of this Coding contest.

The event Project Expo was planned and organized by the Department of CSE in association with IE(I) Student Chapter CSE. The students should come up with their project ideas and demonstrate their project ideas with the implementation and results. The students project can be in the areas of data structures implementing the logic with Object-oriented programming concepts. The participants should present their project for 10 mins and 5 mins for the question & answer session. 55 students participated in this event enthusiastically. The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) CSE student chapter organized Zoho Apti Training - Aptitude Quizzes on the syllabus covered in the Zoho Aptitude test for, III year and IV year CSE students from 24.11.2020 to 08.12.2020 and 18.12.2020 to 26.12.2020 at 10.00 am to 06.30 pm. The quizzes will be posted every day and set open at 10.00 am. The students can take the quiz at any time and complete it. The duration of the quiz will be 45 minutes. Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE is the coordinator of the event. Every day the students eagerly participated and took up the quizzes. The Department of CSE in association with IE (I) CSE student chapter and CSI Student Chapter organized a Guest Lecture on Nuances of Resume Writing for II year, III year, and IV year CSE students on 30.10.2020 from 10.30 AM to 11.30 AM. The Guest speaker was Dr. M.Anish Alfred Vaz, Assistant Professor (SG), Department of English, Ramco Institute of Technology. He shared information about organizing the information in a perfect resume. He exposed the students with more ideas to create a more attractive resume and he facilitated the students with effective tips to prepare a good resume from scratch. The Department of CSE in association with IE(I) Student Chapter CSE organized Treasure Hunt for II year and III year CSE students on 24.10.2020. Students will be provided with five PDFs among which, four PDF files will be locked with a password. Students have to find answers for the questions in the first PDF and that answer is the password for the next PDF. After unlocking all the documents students have to submit the answers through Google form. Mr. Surya Kumar S III CSE and Ms. Rahini G, III CSE are the coordinators of the event. The students are encouraged to apply their knowledge to answer the questions in Google form and submit within the given time. The event Poster Presentation was planned and organized by IE(I) Student Chapter CSE. The students can prepare the poster of their own creativity and upload the poster within the time (27.09.2020, 11 am). The participants should upload their poster presentation in topics like Cybersecurity, AI, Data analytics, IOT. 15 students participated in this event. The event Think & Do was planned and organized by IE(I) Student Chapter CSE on 20.09.2020, in which the participants are being provided with two sets of questions that give a clue of the answers. The participants should find an answer to the question and mark the answer in the puzzle box. Google form should be submitted on or before the given time. Winners will be declared based on the submission time and correct answers. Group Discussion

The event Group Discussion was planned and organized by the Department of CSE in association with IE(I) Student Chapter CSE and Computer Society of India on 06.09.2020. The participants are provided with a general topic to discuss among them. The participants should speak relevantly to the topic within the given time. The Group discussion event is conducted in online mode through Google meet and 18 students participated in this event. CodeJam Programming Contest

The event CodeJam was planned and organized by the Department of CSE and IE(I) Student Chapter CSE on 05.09.2020, in which the participants are provided with a programming challenge that contains 5 questions (2 from an array and 3 from pattern printing). The participants should solve as many questions they can solve in a given time. Winners will be displayed on the leader board. 17 students have participated in this event. Opportunities for the Fresher in the Data Analytics

Ramco Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with IE(I) CSE, CSI student chapter, and Imarticus Learning Pvt Ltd organized a Technical Webinar on OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FRESHER IN THE DATA ANALYTICS on 31.08.2020 from 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM. 86 participants from various institutions and organizations attended the session. 70 students from CSE departments of our institute participated in this session. The resource person, Mr.Ahemed Kalid, Vice-President Imarticus Pvr Ltd, discussed the various opportunities available in the domain Data Analytics. Dr.M.Kaliappan, Associate Professor/CSE, coordinated the event under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Professor & Head/CSE.

6G Wireless Technology and It's Application

Ramco Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with IE(I) CSE and CSI student chapter organized Technical Webinar on 6G Wireless Technology and Its Application on 18.08.2020 from 02.30 PM to 04.00 PM. 166 participants from various institutions and organizations attended the session. The resource person, Dr.Shahid Mumtaz, Senior Researcher, IEEE IAS Distinguished Lecturer, ACM Distinguished Speaker, Editor in Chief IET Journal of Quantum Communication, Instituto DE Telecommunications, AVEIRO, Portugal, discussed the various wireless technology and its applications. Dr.M.Kaliappan, ASP/CSE, Mr.R.Venkatesh, AP(SG)/CSE, and Mr.D.Lakshmanan, AP/CSE coordinated the event under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Professor & Head/CSE.

Ramco Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with IE(I) CSE students chapter organized workshop on Building Web APIs using Django framework during 15-16 August, 2020. 71 participants attended the session. The resource person, Mr.D.Lakshmanan, AP(SG)/CSE given an interactive hands on session on Django with step by step explanation. During the session participants created application using Django framework.Mrs.S.Manjula, AP/CSE, Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE coordinated the event.

The resource person, Mr.G.Rajesh Mani kumar, Technology Analyst, Infosys, Brussels discussed the various trends in IT sector and the technology stack to learn to improve the skills in various domains like Business Intelligence, Data engineering, Big data, Cloud computing, DevOps and Augmented Reality. He also shared the details about linkedin profile creation and resume preparation to improve the job opportunities to the students.

Design your Poster / Poster presentation contest

Design your Poster event was organized by IE(I) Student Chapter CSE for II, III and IV year CSE students on 25.06.2020. The participants are asked to prepare posters about the projects they have developed. Tech Intellect / Technical Quiz

Tech Intellect event was organized by IE(I) Student Chapter CSE for II, III and IV year CSE students on 20.06.2020 from 11.00 am to 11.45 am. Technical questions from their subjects are posted in the Google forms. The winners are selected based on their scores and completion time. The event was organized by Ms. Jegatha C, IV CSE, Mr. Kavin Naresh G R, IV CSE, Ms. Selva Ishwarya, IV CSE, Ms. Sri Darshini M B and III CSE. 58 students of CSE participated in the event and Ms. Vaishnavidevi A J, IV year, Ms. Harshini A S, III year, Mr. Athivigneshkumar N, II year are the winners.

Faculty Professional Development Program on Python Programming

Ramco Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with IE(I) CSE and ISTE Faculty Chapter organized Faculty Professional Development Program on Python Programming for Faculty members of Civil, EEE, ECE and Mechanical department from 05.06.2020 to 19.06.2020. 39 faculty members (Civil-3, ECE-17, EEE-10,Mechanial-9) were attended the programme. Faculty members were taught Python Programming with modern pedagogic techniques like Quizzes, Videos, hand-on-session which helped them to understand the concepts very clearly and also enjoyed the learning. The program were handled and coordinated by the internal faculty members of CSE department under the guidance of Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Professor & Head/CSE.

Guest Lecture on Outcome Based Education

The Department of CSE and Institute of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter jointly organizes a Guest Lecture on 25.02.2020 in the CSE seminar hall for II year and III year CSE students. Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran, Vice-Principal and Professor & Head, Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, delivered an expert lecture on the title Roles and Responsibilities of students in Outcome Based Education. He gave a brief exposure to the students to realize their responsibility in effective implementation of Outcome-Based Education. He also shared his opinions on Outcome-based education (OBE) in comparison with output-based education. Both during and after the Special Lecture, many students interacted with the Guest speaker. The students appreciated the lecture and became knowledgeable about the Outcome-Based Education.

A two day National level Workshop on BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY was conducted by the department of CSE in association with RIT IIC, RIT IE(CSE Chapter), RIT Cyber Security Cell and GeeksLab Technologies on 13.02.2020-14.02.2020. 52 participants from various Universities and other colleges have participated actively.

Event: Logo Quiz

The Institute of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter of CSE has organized the event "Logo Quiz" on 14.02.2020 at CC Laboratory for II and III year CSE Students. The task in the event is to predict the correct logo of the company/software/technology (out of duplicate logos). 12 students of CSE participated in the event. Mr. R. Sri Shankar of II year CSE won the event. Ms.M.Sasi Rekha, Mr.M.Yogesh Loganath of III year CSE coordinated this event.

Guest Lecture on Personal Mastery

The Department of CSE and Institute of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter jointly organizes a Guest Lecture on 16.09.2019 in the CSE seminar hall for IV year CSE students. Dr.R.Seethalakshmi, Assistant Librarian, Ramco Institute of Technology, delivered an expert lecture on the title Personal Mastery. She explained the importance of self-motivation, setting the goals in our career. She insisted the students to focus and excel on their career and scale up their success.

The Institute of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter of CSE has organized the event Unwrap Your Intellect on 26.09.2019 for II and III year CSE Students. 10 students participated in the event and finally Ms.J.Ajitha of III year and Mr.M.Suriyaa of II year were selected as the winners. "Connections" is a typical game play where the participants should identify the word/concept with the image projected in screen. The event was organized on 21.08.2019 at AI & IOS Laboratory. 10 students of CSE participated in the event and finally Ms.A.Gayathri of III year CSE and Ms.Gnanamoorthy Vidhia of II year CSE won the event.

"Blind Coding" is a typical game play where the participants should type the code with their monitors switched off. R.Sriram Karthikeyan, M.Sasi Rekha of III CSE and S.Kavimalar, V.Vishnu Praba V of II CSE organized this event on 07.08.2019 at AI & IOS Laboratory. More than 10 students of members of IE(I)/CSE enthusiastically participated. M.Anushree, III-year CSE won first prize and P. Sabna Devi, II-year CSE won second prize.

Jumble the code is an event in which the task is to re-arrange the jumbled code by understanding the logic behind the code and to get a specified output. R.Siva Ranjini and R.Selva Ishwarya of III CSE, M.Karthiga and R.Padmasugi of II CSE organized this event on 14.08.2019 at CC-III laboratory. K.Ragapriya of III year CSE won first prize and K.M.Divya Pandian of III year CSE won second prize.
