Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of Computer Professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. Our Institute has joined as an Institutional Member of the Computer Society of India in the year 2014. We also have student chapters comprising of more than 75 students in this forum of computer professionals. Our Institute actively contributing to the growth of Computer professionals by organizing various events like Coding Contests, Workshops, Seminars, and Technical Talks. Knowledge Dissemination meeting is happening every fortnight to discuss the contributions in CSI Communications.

Events Organized in 2023-2024
Department of CSE, Ramco Institute of Technology, in association with ACM Student Chapter and CSI Students Chapter, organized a Five Day Short Term Training Programme on DevOps during 05-09 February, 2024. Mr.R.Sathish and Mr.Gautham from Trusty Bytes provided hands-on training on Devops to 12 Faculty members and 31students from various institutions. The programme started with a formal inaugural function, and the following sessions were handled by Mr.R.Sathish and Mr.Gautham. In this training programme, the faculties and students were equipped with new skills in Cloud Services, Git Repo and Versioning, Maven, Pipelining, Gradle and Ansible playbook. They were also provided with hands-on training and briefed about industrial applications, career opportunities, and mini projects. The participants expressed that the training was very much interesting and informative. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. The Training Programme was coordinated by Mr.C.A.Yogaraja, AP/CSE, Ms.G.Sakthi Priya,AP/CSE and Mrs.F.Twinkle Graf, AP/CSE with support of Ms.KB.Uthra, TPO and guidance from Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE.
In Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science and Business Systems in association with RIT-CSI organized a Guest Lecture on Recent Trends and Opportunities in Networking on 11.08.2023 at 10.00 am 62 students from III year CSE participated in this guest lecture. The resource person of the guest lecture is Ms.M.J. Sundara Lakshmi, Junior NOC Engineer, Swish Fibre, London Area, United Kingdom. He briefly explained about the Recent Trends and Opportunities in Networking. The event was coordinated by Mrs.M.Swarna sudha, AP(SG)/CSE.
In Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science and Business Systems in association with RIT-CSI organized a Workshop on Bootstrap on 23.09.2023. 69 students from II year CSE, CSBS and IT were participated in this workshop. The resource person of the workshop is Mr.S.Manikandan, CEO, Geon Logix Pvt Ltd, Madurai. He briefly explained about the topics HTML elements, JavaScript, CSS framework, bootstrap components for buttons, cards, dropdowns, input groups, navigation bars and hands-on sessions. The event was coordinated by Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, AP(SG)/CSE and Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP(SG)/CSE. The student coordinators are Mr.K.Karthikeyan II CSE, Ms.M.Samritha Sree Harini, II IT and Ms.V.Anusiya, II CSBS.
Department of CSE, CSBS and IT in association with Student Chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India organized a Technical Debate - Is Artificial Intelligence or Robotics leads to human development or decline on 20.10.2023 for I and II CSE, CSBS, IT. 23 students from CSE, CSBs and IT participated in this event. The event was coordinated by Mrs.B.Yazhini AP/CSBS. The student coordinators are Ms.Kamatchi, II CSBS, Ms.V.Anusuya, II CSBS.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems and Information Technology, RIT inaugurated the Computer Society of India Students Chapter on 04.11.2023. Mr.S.Manikandan, CEO, Geon Logix Pvt Ltd, Madurai was the chief guest of the function and delivered the chief guest address. He also delivered the speech about Motivational Talk on 360 life. 240 students of Department of Computer Science and engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems and Information Technology have participated in an Inaugural function. The office bearers of RIT-CSI were introduced and the Joint Secretary of RIT-CSI Mr.K.Karthikeyan, II CSE Elaborated the annual plan of CSI Students chapter.
Department of CSE, CSBS and IT in association with Student Chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India organized an event Algorithm Writing Contest on 11.12.2023 for I CSE, CSBS, IT. 10 students were participated in this event. The event was coordinated by Mr.S.Sakkaravarthi, AP/IT. The student coordinators are Ms.Thanishka shree, II IT, Mr.S.Ragul Raj, II IT. Mr.M.Manoj Kumar, I CSBS, was the winner of the event and Ms.J.Sobika Joleen, I IT, Mr. S.Bala Vignesh, I CSBS became runner up.
Department of CSE, CSBS and IT in association with Student Chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India organized an event Art of video Editing on 13.12.2023 for I CSE, CSBS, IT. 10 students participated in this event. The event was coordinated by Ms.G.Sakthi priya AP/CSE. The student coordinators are Ms.P.Harine, II CSE, Ms.V.Kavya, II CSE, Ms.Akshaya, II IT, Ms.V.Anusuya, II CSBS. Mr.M.Manoj Kumar, I CSBS, Mr.S.Bala Vignesh, I CSBS, was the winner of the event and Ms.M.S.Janani, I CSE, Ms.P.Harini Shri, I CSE became runner up.
Department of CSE, CSBS and IT in association with Student Chapter of RIT-Computer Society of India organized an event Code Golf on 10.01.2024 for II CSE, CSBS and IT. 38 students participated in this event. The event was coordinated by Mrs.K. Jeyakarthika, AP/CSE and Mrs.A.Sofia Thanga Mary, AP/CSE. Ms.G.Sakthi Priya, AP/CSE and Mr.S.Sakkravarthi, AP/IT are the judges of the event. The student coordinators are Mr.Karthikeyan, II CSE, Mr.Adhvaith, II CSE, Ms.S.V.Abinayashree, II CSE and Ms.K.Sakthi Deeksha, II CSE. Winner of the event is Mr.P.Sathasin, II CSE, Runner of the event is Mr.M.Hariharasubramani, II CSE and Mr.M.Muthukumar, II CSE.
