COMPUTER PRACTICES LABORATORY (COMPUTER CENTRE)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a well-established Computer Practices Laboratory exclusively for First Year students. Computer Practices laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Programming.

The Laboratory is supported by Data Center and all computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 64 Dell OptiPlex 3010 Intel Core i3 Processor Systems, HP Laser Printers, Heavy duty dot matrix printer, Centralized UPS system, 48 port Juniper Manageable Switches and unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment.

Computer Practices I and Computer Programming Laboratory classes are conducted in this Laboratory.

OPERATING SYSTEMS LABORATORY (COMPUTER CENTRE II)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has well established Operating Systems Laboratory. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Operating Systems, Object Oriented and Programming concepts and Data Structures.

The Laboratory is supported by Data Center, running on Unix/Linux environment; all Computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 66 Dell Optiplex 3020 Intel Core i3 Processor Systems, HP Laser Printers, Heavy duty dot matrix printer, Centralized UPS system, 48 port Juniper Manageable Switches and unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment.

Programming and Data Structures, Object Oriented Programming Systems, Operating Systems practical classes are conducted in this Laboratory for Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students.

INTERNET PROGRAMMING LABORATORY

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a well-established Internet Programming Laboratory for Third Year students. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Internet Programming and Compiler.

The Laboratory is supported by Data Center and all computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 66 Dell OptiPlex 3010 Intel Core i3 Processor Systems, HP Laser Printers, Heavy duty Dot Matrix Printer, Centralized UPS system, 48 port Juniper Manageable Switches and unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment.

Internet Programming Laboratory, Compiler Laboratory and Database Management System Laboratory classes are conducted in this Laboratory.

CASE TOOLS LABORATORY

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has well established Case Tools Laboratory. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Software development and Computer Graphics Laboratory.

The Laboratory is supported by Data Center and all Computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 36 Dell OptiPlex 3020 Intel Core i3 Processor Systems, HP Laser Printers, Heavy Duty dot matrix printer, Centralized UPS system, 48 port Juniper Manageable Switches and unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment.

Software Development and Computer Graphics Laboratory practical classes are conducted in this Laboratory for Computer Science and Engineering Students.

MOBILE APPLICATION LABORATORY

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has well established Mobile Laboratory. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Mobile Application development.

The Laboratory is supported by Data Center, running on Unix/Linux environment; all Computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 36 Dell Optiplex 3020 Intel Core i3 Processor Systems, HP Laser Jet Printers, centralized UPS system, unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment.

Mobile Application Development and Network Laboratory practical classes are conducted in this Laboratory for Computer Science and Engineering Students.

CLOUD COMPUTING AND NETWORK SECURITY LABORATORY

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has well established Grid and Cloud Computing Laboratory for Final Year students. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge to setup Grid and Cloud computing environment, virtualization, to run application on grid and cloud environment and to handle big data.

The Laboratory is supported by Data center, running on Unix/Linux environment; all Computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 60 Dell Optiplex 3020 Intel Core i5 Processor Systems, HP Laser Jet Printers, centralized UPS system, unlimited internet facility. Grid and Cloud Computing Laboratory and Security Laboratory practical classes are conducted in this Laboratory for Computer Science and Engineering Students.

FACULTY ONLINE LEARNING CENTRE

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has well established online learning centre for the faculty members. This centre provides essential facilities to the faculty members of all the departments for doing online courses offered by MIT, Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Berkley, Duke, Harvey Mudd, North Western University, Mexican university etc in edX or Coursera related to their area of specialization.

It is supported by Data center, running on Unix/Linux environment; all Computers are connected via network and are well equipped with 10 Dell Optiplex 3020 Intel Core i5 Processor Systems, HP Laser Jet Printers, centralized UPS system, unlimited internet facility.

DATA CENTER

RIT Data Center compiles all typical standards of highly secured Data Center setup like raised access flooring. All the blocks are connected in star topology with this Data Center being the central point for Networking, Systems, Windows Server /Linux Systems, Telecommunications and also maintain the campus telephone network. Its comprehensive infrastructure and facilities include

• 8-Blade Servers - IBM-X240 for Domain server, Linux server, Moodle server, DHCP server, Mcfee Server, Oracle Server, Backup Domain Server and Autocad server.

• IBM Storwize V7000 of 24 TB common storage space for the requirement of all users that delivers essential storage efficiency technologies and exceptional ease of use and performance.

• Internet Line Connectivity: 48 MBPS
BSNL (Wired) : 100 MBPS
GETNET(Wireless): 20 MBPS

• Router: Juniper EX240 - Robust Routing Engine separates data and control planes to allow deployment of consolidated routing and security devices.

• Siemens Hipath 3800 system is used for establishing telephonic communication within the campus(HFA Phones).

• Core Switch: Juniper EX4550 - Two numbers of Juniper EX4550 Core Switch provide high-density 10-Gigabit ports for aggregation.

Regation layers and datacenter top-of-rack deployments, and provide options for datacenter optimized airflow. Switches have a base port density of 32 fixed 10-Gigabit SFP+ or 10-Gigabit Ethernet BASE-T (10GBASE-T) ports that can scale up to 48 ports by installing the optional expansion modules.

• Switches: JuniperEX3300: 75 JunipermanageablePoE switches are available in the Laboratories, Boys Hostel, Ladies Hostel and Office which are connected to Data Center through Optical Fibre Link.

• Firewall: Juniper SRX 550 (2 No.s) - All-in-one solution that consolidates Security, routing, switching, and WAN connectivity in computer systems.

• Wireless controls WLC800: The Juniper Networks WLC Series Wireless LAN Controllers for Wi- Fi network connectivity to campus.

• VPN Connectivity to Hostels.

Data Center maintains network infrastructure such as Firewalls, Core switches and diagnoses problems with the network-attached computers.

Perform troubleshooting on all Hardware and Operating systems to identify issues and develop appropriate scripts to debug all problems effectively.

Analyse all connectivity issues and resolve all hardware and software issues and install new servers and advanced systems for effective processes.

Manage all users’ accounts and make required changes, create or delete accounts as per requirements, prepare and provide support to all contractors for administer systems and assist all technicians in hardware and software applications.

Data Center serve its students to access common IT Facilities like Login Authentication, Secure Internet, Knowledge Assets, Digital Repository System, Digital Syllabus Contents and more.
