DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING LABORATORY
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has established a state-of-the-art High Performance Computing (HPC) Laboratory to support intensive computational tasks and advanced research in computing. The laboratory is equipped with 66 high-end Dell OptiPlex Tower Plus 7020 systems, powered by 12th Generation Intel Core i7-14700 processors with 20 cores and 28 logical processors, operating at a base frequency of 2.10 GHz. Each system is configured with 64 GB DDR4 RAM, 64 GB total physical memory, and advanced UEFI BIOS architecture, offering substantial computational capability.
These systems run Microsoft Windows 10 Pro and are supported by a robust network infrastructure, including centralized UPS and high-speed internet connectivity.
The HPC Lab serves as a dedicated environment for hands-on sessions in the following advanced courses:
- Digital Mobile Forensics
- Computer Network Security
- Cloud Computing
- Augmented Reality


EXTENDED REALITY LABORATORY
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has established a cutting-edge Extended Reality (XR) Laboratory to support immersive application development in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). This facility empowers students to design and deploy interactive simulations and experiential systems that align with current advancements in extended reality technologies.
The lab is equipped with high-performance HP Z2 Tower G9 Workstation Desktop PCs (6 nos), each powered by Intel Core i7-14700K processors featuring 20 cores and 28 logical processors, running at 3.40 GHz. Each system includes 32 GB of RAM, advanced UEFI BIOS architecture, and Microsoft Windows 11 Pro operating system, ensuring robust performance for XR development platforms like Unity, Unreal Engine, and Blender.
Key hardware available in the lab:
- Meta Quest 3 (128 GB) 4 headsets, enabling standalone and tethered XR experiences.
- Car Simulator Setup Includes Playseat Gearshift Holder PRO, Logitech G29 Racing Wheel, and Logitech Driving Force Shifter, offering realistic simulation capabilities for virtual training, immersive driving applications, and human-machine interaction studies.

Open Source Laboratory
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has upgraded the CCII Laboratory funded by CSR fund of The Ramco Cements Limited (TRCL) to the Open Source Laboratory in 2022. Algorithms,Operating Systems,Data Structures, CryptoCurrency &Blockchain Technologies practical classes are conducted in the Laboratory. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Operating Systems and has been updated specifically to work on Linux projects. The main goals of this laboratory are to foster cutting-edge technological research and offer practical training. The lab is fully furnished with the set up required to bridge the gap between students and industry.The laboratory is well equipped with 26 Dell OptiPlex 3000 12 Gen Intel Core i5 Processor Systems, 6 Dell OptiPlex 5000-Intel Core i7 32 GB RAM/512 SSD Processor Systems, 4 Dell OptiPlex 7020-Intel Core i7 64 GB RAM/512 SSD,1TB HDD Processor Systems Canon Laser Printers, HP Laser Printer,EPSON Dot Matrix Printer, Centralized UPS System, 48 port Juniper Manageable Switches and unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment.

CLOUD COMPUTING AND CYBER SECURITY LABORATORY
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a well-established Cloud Computing and Cyber Security Laboratory. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in cloud computing and security domain. The Laboratory is supported by CSR fund of The Ramco Cements Limited, Chennai. The Laboratory is well equipped with 36 Dell OptiPlex 3000 Tower 12th Generation Intel core i5-12500(6 Cores) Processor, 32GB DDR4 Non-ECC Memory, 256 GB PCie NVMe Class 35 Solid State Drive, 1 TB 7200rpm Hard Disk drive, 21.5 Monitor, Intel Integrated Graphics Internal Antenna, Intel WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Card, HP Laser Printers, Centralized UPS system, 48 port Juniper Manageable Switches and unlimited internet facility in an air conditioned environment. Object Oriented Programming Laboratory, Database Management System Laboratory and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Laboratory classes are conducted in this laboratory.

MOBILE APPLICATION LABORATORY
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a well established Mobile Laboratory. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in Mobile Application development. The Laboratory is supported by the Data Center, running on a Unix/Linux environment; all Computers are connected via network. The Laboratory is well equipped with 36 Dell Optiplex 3020 Intel Core i5 Processor Systems, Canon Laser Jet Printes,HP Laserjet Printer,EPSON Dot Matrix Printer centralized UPS system, unlimited internet facility in an Air Conditioned environment. Mobile Application Development Laboratory practical classes are conducted in this Laboratory for Computer Science and Engineering Students.


PROJECT LABORATORY
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a well-established Project Laboratory for Project work, Mini project, Hackathon project and Science day projects. This laboratory provides essential facilities to the students to enhance their knowledge in the area of Mobile application development, IoT, Cloud computing, Cyber security, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics.
The Laboratory is supported by a Data center, running on Unix/Linux environment; all Computers are connected through LAN. The Laboratory is well equipped with 63 Dell OptiPlex 3020 Intel Core i5 Processor Systems, 03 Dell Tower Plus 7020 Intel Core i7 Processor Systems, HP Laser Jet 1020 Plus Printers, Cannon LBP 2900 Printer, Epson FX-2175 Dot Matrix Printer, centralized UPS system and unlimited internet facility. Ethics and AI, Object Oriented Software Engineering, Data Analysis, Digital Marketing, Laboratory practical classes, are conducted in this Laboratory for Computer Science and Engineering Students during EVEN semester.

AI & IOS LABORATORY
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has established AI and IOS Laboratory for the students of CSE to enrich their knowledge in AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and IOS platform. Faculty and Students of CSE utilize the facilities of this lab to carry out their research and final year project and mini project in the domain of AI, Machine Learning, Deep learning and mobile app development using IOS.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has established Tyco Product Development center supported by future calls Pvt ltd, Chennai and funded by Tyco, Chennai.Students enhance their knowledge in the field of networking, web application and IoT. RIT Data Center compiles all typical standards of highly secured Data Center setup like raised access flooring. All the blocks are connected in star topology with this Data Center being the central point for Networking, Systems, Windows Server /Linux Systems, Telecommunications and also maintain the campus telephone network. Its comprehensive infrastructure and facilities include


8-Blade Servers - IBM-X240 for Domain server, Linux server, Moodle server, DHCP server, Mcfee Server, Oracle Server, Backup Domain Server and Autocad server.
IBM Storwize V7000 of 24 TB common storage space for the requirement of all users that delivers essential storage efficiency technologies and exceptional ease of use and performance.
Internet Line Connectivity: 1200 MBPS
BSNL (Wired) : 1000 MBPS
AIRTEL(Wireless): 200 MBPS
Router: Juniper EX240 - Robust Routing Engine separates data and control planes to allow deployment of consolidated routing and security devices.
Siemens Hipath 3800 system is used for establishing telephonic communication within the campus(HFA Phones).
Core Switch: Juniper EX4550 - Two numbers of Juniper EX4550 Core Switch provide high-density 10-Gigabit ports for aggregation.
Regation layers and datacenter top-of-rack deployments, and provide options for datacenter optimized airflow. Switches have a base port density of 32 fixed 10-Gigabit SFP+ or 10-Gigabit Ethernet BASE-T (10GBASE-T) ports that can scale up to 48 ports by installing the optional expansion modules.
Switches: JuniperEX3300: 75 JunipermanageablePoE switches are available in the Laboratories, Boys Hostel, Ladies Hostel and Office which are connected to Data Center through Optical Fibre Link.
Firewall: Juniper SRX 550 (2 No.s) - All-in-one solution that consolidates Security, routing, switching, and WAN connectivity in computer systems.
Wireless controls WLC800: The Juniper Networks WLC Series Wireless LAN Controllers for Wi- Fi network connectivity to campus.

Manage all users accounts and make required changes, create or delete accounts as per requirements, prepare and provide support to all contractors for administer systems and assist all technicians in hardware and software applications.
Data Center serve its students to access common IT Facilities like Login Authentication, Secure Internet, Knowledge Assets, Digital Repository System, Digital Syllabus Contents and more.
