Students IV (2016-2017)
Industrial Visit to Ramco Systems Ltd-Chennai and and IIT Madras was organized for III year CSE on January 6th, 2017 with two faculty members of CSE Department Mrs.M.Swarna Sudha, AP/CSE and Mr.K.Naveenkumar AP/CSE.
Mrs. Shyamala Jayaraman, Senior Vice President - ERP, Ramco Systems gave us a brief introduction about Ramco and technology. She made us understand how the Ramco systems and the group of concerns like other Ramco industries and college works with the help of Ramco ERP. She then gave us a deep knowledge on the Virtual work.
Chinmoy Rajpal, Principal Consultant - Cloud Provisioning, Ramco Systems explained about cloud computing, Cloud Security, Virtual Private Networks, Encryption in VPNs. Finally the characteristics of the cloud computing was discussed. The students were given a wonderful opportunity to go to IIT Madras. The students were divided into five different groups where each group was taken to labs like Artificial Intelligence, Network Systems, and VLSI Computer Visions. The students at IIT doing PhD gave a speech to our students about the various projects they were doing.
After visiting, the students gathered together and various questions of higher studies and doing the internships at IIT were discussed.
Students IV (2015-2016)
To endorse our students with industrial knowledge apart from curriculum activities RIT-CLUSTRA organized a one day Industrial Visit at Lenovo India Ltd. in Pondicherry. All the students of II Year Computer Science and Engineering along with two faculty Members Mrs.M.Chitra, AP/CSE and Mr.R.Venkatesh, AP/CSE visited the above industry.
The HRs of Lenovo Pondicherry apprised our students with the history of the Lenovo Company and also the methods of Computer Assembly.
Lenovo India Ltd, Pondicherry was initially developed by Yang Yuanqing who is the Chairman and CEO of Lenovo manufacturing Industry. The Functionality in Pondicherry undertaken by Lenovo Factory is Assembly line process & Testing.n assembly line process is a manufacturing process in which process are added as the Semi-finished assembly moves from workstation to workstation where the parts are added in a sequence until final assembly is produced. In Lenovo India Ltd final process of manufacturing will be performed by assembling the motherboard with the computer CPU and testing the capability of maximum volts passed in a computer parts. Defected pieces will be forwarded to another place of Lenovo India Ltd. About 60 to 70 computers will be handled by workers in a current concern.In Lenovo India Ltd, Automatic testing unit is functioning in which all the parts are tested and packed automatically. The operation can be handled both manually and automatically. All our Students had seen every stages of assembly line and packing in a hardware industry. The company is maintaining their own server with Star topology.
