VALUE ADDED COURSES
The Value-Added Course on Arduino and Sensor-Based Applications was conducted as a one-week hands-on training program for the II Year CSE students, organized by the Department of CSE. The course was conducted in three batches: from 7th to 11th July 2025 for the first batch, 14th to 18th July 2025 for the second batch, and 21st to 25th July 2025 for the third batch. The course was conducted by Dr. N. Pothirasan, CEO, Hashan Medicare, Rajapalayam. The sessions began with a theoretical introduction to the fundamentals of Arduino, followed by practical demonstrations of basic sensors and interfacing techniques. Students were introduced to the essential components, coding environment, and hardware setup required to build real-time applications using Arduino. Through guided practice, students gained exposure to working with various sensors and learned to integrate them effectively for different project requirements. The training emphasized not only technical skills but also creativity and problem-solving, enabling participants to design and implement innovative prototypes. 120 students actively participated and benefitted from the program.

The Department of CSE at RIT, in association with the RIT_CSE IEI conducted a Value-Added Course on Arduino Programming from February 14 to 19, 2025. The course, designed for second-year B.E. CSE students, provided hands-on training in embedded systems through real-time applications. The course was conducted by: Dr. N. Pothirasan, CEO, Hashan Medicare, Rajapalayam. The course covered Arduino fundamentals, sensor integration, motor control, and advanced hardware interfacing, providing students with both theoretical insights and practical experience in developing embedded system applications. Throughout the five-day training, students engaged in simulation-based learning using Proteus and implemented their designs on real hardware. The course began with an introduction to Arduino basics and LED/LCD interfacing, followed by sensor and motor control modules. Advanced sessions included working with RFID, ultrasonic sensors, keypads, and RTC modules, which are crucial for real-time applications. The final day was dedicated to project implementation, where students integrated their knowledge into functional prototypes, enhancing their problem-solving skills and teamwork. The program effectively bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation, fostering innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative learning among participants. The event was organized by II CSE students Ms. A. Jeci Caramel, Ms. M. Subaranjani, Ms. M. Navina, Ms. A. Sivapriya, and Ms. S. Dhurka Devi, and coordinated by Dr. M. Swarna Sudha, ASP/CSE, and Mrs. S. Vijaya Amala Devi, AP/CSE. A total of 60 students participated and benefited from the course, with the final day dedicated to project implementation.

The Value-Added Course on Augmented Reality in Action: Learn, Build, Innovate was conducted in two sessions: from 20th to 25th January 2025 for the II Year A section, and from 27th January to 1st February 2025 for the II Year B section which was organized by the Department of CSE in association with the RIT Extended Reality Research and Development Center, the course was led by Ms. Rajarajeswari P and Ms. Sakthi Priya G, Assistant Professors in CSE. The course aimed to introduce students to the basics of 3D modeling and augmented reality applications. Students gained foundational knowledge in 3D modeling and practical exposure to Unity Hub and AR development tools, enabling them to create and manage their first AR application. The interactive hands-on sessions encouraged students to explore innovative ways to blend digital and physical environments, enhancing their creativity and problem-solving skills. The course was coordinated by Dr. M. Swarna Sudha, Associate Professor, CSE, Mrs. S. Vijaya Amala Devi, and Mrs. R. Madhu, Assistant Professors in CSE. A total of 129 students participated in the course and got benefitted.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with RIT-Clustra and RIT-CSI Students Chapter, organized a six-day Value-Added Course on Mastering Web Application in Hackathon from 20th January to 1st February 2025 for second-year CSE students. Mr. N. Dhiraj (Batch 2020-2024), Technical Member at Zoho, served as the resource person for the hackathon event. The event was organized by II year CSE students Mr. Sarveshwar, Mr. C. Hari Krishnan, Mr. Mohan Ganesh, Mr. Anish Kumar, Ms. Anu Subhiksha, and Ms. Jane Gracy, which were conducted in two sessions: from 20th to 24th January 2025 for II CSE B, and from 27th January to 31st January 2025 for II CSE A. The course covered topics including HTML basics, CSS fundamentals, web page cloning practice, JavaScript basics, DOM manipulation, followed by a hackathon event on 25th January and 1st February for each batch respectively. During the hackathon, Mr. N. Dhiraj evaluated the student projects and conducted mock interviews on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, through which a few students were shortlisted for internship opportunities at Folonite, a startup founded by RIT-CSE students. The course was coordinated by Dr. M. Swarna Sudha, Associate Professor, CSE, Mrs. S. Vijaya Amala Devi, and Mrs. R. Madhu, Assistant Professors in CSE. A total of 129 students participated in the course and got benefitted.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Ramco Institute of Technology (RIT), in association with RIT-CSI, conducted a Value-Added Course on Full Stack Development from January 30 to February 7, 2025. The course, designed for third-year CSE students, provided comprehensive knowledge of full-stack technologies, covering both frontend and backend development. The course was conducted by: Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi, AP(SG)/CSE, Mr. K. Vignesh Saravanan AP(SG)/CSE.A special session on web technologies and modern development frameworks was held by: Mr. Ijass Ahamed, Software Developer at Zoho. The event was organized by III CSE students Aravind A.S and Muthusankar M, and coordinated by Mrs. K. Jeyakarthika AP/CSE and Mrs. M. Dhivya AP/CSE , a total of 58 students participated and gained valuable insights from the course, with the final day featuring a hackathon.

An eight days Value Added Course on Salesforce Admin was organised by the Department of CSE and Training and Placement cell in Association with IE(I) from 30.01.2025 to 07.02.2025 for III year B.E. CSE students. Mr.Nandha Kumar S K, Business Analyst, Mr.Piruthuvi K, Salesforce Senior developer, Softsquare solutions, Dr.I.Gethzi Ahila Poornima, ASP/CSE and Dr.S.Erana Veerappa Dinesh ASP/CSBS were the resource persons. The event was coordinated by Dr.I.Gethzi Ahila Poornima, ASP/CSE and K.Jeyageetha, AP/CSE. The student coordinators are Ashwath V, III CSE and Sakthivel V, III CSE.

The Value-Added Course on Application Development with ASP.NET MVC is organizing from 28.10.2023. The resource person is Mr.S.Rajkumar, Senior Consultant, WNS Global Services Private Limited, Chennai. 21 students from III year CSE were attending the course. The course was designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of web application development using ASP.NET MVC. The course covered essential topics, beginning with an introduction to .Net and the use of Visual Studio Code (VS Code) as the development environment. Participants delved into the fundamentals of programming, learning about variables, data types, conditional statements, looping constructs, parallel task, Interface, sealed class, exception handler, generic class, Ado.net in the C# language.

Anna University approved One Credit Value Added Course on Android Development using kotlin (IVA097) was conducted for 66 students of III year CSE during 06.01.2023 to 19.01.2023 at Mobile Application Development Laboratory. The resource person Mr.C.A.Yogaraja, AP/CSE and Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE handled the sessions.

A six day Value Added Course on Virtualization and Azure Cloud was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Association with ACM Student chapter from 20.06.2023 to 26.06.2023 for II year B.E. Computer Science and Engineering students in the Project Laboratory. Mr. S.Gavaskar, Developer Advocate, Multicloud4U was the resource person. The event was coordinated by Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, Associate Professor, CSE and K.Jeyageetha, Assistant Professor, CSE. The student coordinators are Ms.K.M.Architha II CSE, Mr.R.Vijayasarathy II CSE.

The department of CSE in association with RIT_CSE ACM Student chapter organized the Value Added Course on Network Security and Blockchain from 23rd Jan 2023 to 25th Jan 2023 to the III year B.E.CSE Students. Dr.Jay Bagga, Ph.D, Professor/Computer Science, Ball State University, Munncie, Indiana, USA was the resource person of the course and delivered the lecture in the area of Network Security and Blockchain. R. Shamiksha, II/CSE & Mr. R. Vijaysarathy, II/CSE coordinated the event under the guidance of the faculty coordinators M. Gomathy Nayagam, ASCP/CSE & Mr. K. Vignesh Saravanan, AP(SG)/CSE. 62 students of III year CSE students were participated and got benefited.

Five Day Value Added Course on "Linux System Administration"
Ramco Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering organised a Five Day Value Added Course on "Linux System Administration" in collaboration with RIT-Clustra, a students' association, and RIT-CSI student chapter to enhance students' skills in Linux Administration and Free Open Source software during July 21-26, 2022. Mr.J.S.Sukumar of Vectra Technosoft Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, gave a special lecture on Linux System Administration and its industrial applications. Dr.M.Gomathy Nayagam and Dr.R.Venkatesh, RIT CSE Linux certified faculty members, led the entire technical session.


Five Day Value added Course on Data Science with Applications and Problem Solving
Five days Value added Course on Data Science with Applications and Problem Solving was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with RIT-IE(I) CSE Students chapter during 21st 26th July, 2022 to the third year CSE students. The course covered topics including Python Packages for Data Science and Hands-on sessions on Data Pre-Processing, Data manipulation, Data Visualization, Building a Classification model and Regression model using case studies. Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, Mrs.M.Swarna Sudha, Mrs.S.Manjula handled the different sessions. 44 participants of III year CSE students attended the Value added course.


The department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ramco Institute of Technology conducted One credit value added course on CSVAC2003 & Model Development Using Exploratory Analysis from 4th October 2020 to 21st January 2021. The course covered topics including Python Packages for Data Science NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas - Importing and Exporting Data in Python, Pre-processing Data in Python, Exploratory Data Analysis, Descriptive Statistics, Visualization, Correlation analysis, Analysis of Variance ANOVA, Linear Regression, Multiple linear regression, Model Development using Case Studies, etc. The students from final year and III years CSE attended the course.


The Department of CSE in association with the IE chapter organized a Five days value-added course on Web Designing & Hosting from 25.11.2019 to 30.11.2019. The resource persons Mr.S.Manikandan, Director, Geons Logix Private Limited, TCE-TBI, Tiruparangundram, handled the session on the topic of web design and hosting using WordPress. Dr.M.Kaliappan, Asso. Prof./CSE, Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, AP(S.G)/CSE, Mr.D.Lakshmanan, AP(S.G)/CSE, and Mrs.N.Nithya, AP/CSE handled the session and given some mini projects on the topics in HTML tags and CSS for the II year CSE students.


Anna University approved One Credit Value Added Course on Transfer Learning Frameworks was conducted for 31 students of III year CSE on 09.08.2019 & 17.08.2019 at AI & IOS Laboratory. The resource person Mr.V.Chandran, AP/ECE, NVIDIA DLI Ambassador, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, handled the session on the topics of CNN, RCNN, YOLO.


Department of CSE conducted GATE Exam Awareness for III CSE Students on 19.09.2019. Mr.G.Karmegam, Director, GateForum, Madurai, delivered interactive lecture about the GATE exam preparation.


Anna University approved One Credit Value Added Course on iOS App development was conducted for 22 students of III year CSE on 14.09.2019 at AI & IOS Laboratory. The resource person Ms.B.Sinthiya, Lead Developer, HCL Technologies, Chennai handled the session on the topics of Type of Protocols, Alamofire, Data communication programming, Closures, Notification Center.


One Credit Value Added Course on iOS App development was conducted on 17.08.2019 for 22 students of III year CSE on AI & IOS Laboratory by the resource Ms.B.Sinthiya, Lead Developer, HCL Technologies, Chennai. The resource person gave a brief idea on the topics of Persistence Programming, Introduction to Plist, Coredata, SQLite and Network Programming.


Anna University approved One Credit Value Added Course on "iOS App Development" for 22 students of V semester CSE on the topics of "Introduction to swift Programming, variables, Conditional Statements, Arrays, Loops, Functions, Closure and Enumerations" was conducted on 09.08.2019 at AI & IOS Laboratory by the Resource Person Mr.J.Manikandan, Assistant Professor, CSE, K L University, Vijayawada.


Four days Value Added Course on IOT & ROBOTICS had conducted by Mr.B.Kannan, Assistant Professor(Sr.Gr)/ECE Dept, Mr.M.Gomathy Nayagam(Sr.Gr)/CSE Dept, Mr.S.ValaiGanesh, Assistant Professor/Mech Dept, Mr.S. S.Meenakshi Sundaravel, Assistant Professor(Sr.Gr)/EEE Dept, during 24.06.2019 to 27.06.2019 for III year CSE students.


Four days Value Added Course on Projects using PHP had conducted by Dr.M.Kaliappan, Associate Professor/CSE Dept.,Mrs.N.Nithya, Assistant Professor/CSE Dept., Mr.C.A.Yogaraja, Assistant Professor/CSE Dept. during 24.06.2019 to 27.06.2019 for III year CSE students.


Four days Value Added Course on Problem Solving Techniques had conducted by Dr. K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE, Dr.M.Kaliappan, ASCP/CSE, Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, AP(S.G)/CSE, Mrs.N.Nithya, AP/CSE, Mr. K.Vignesh Saravanan,AP/CSE during 17.06.2019 to 20.06.2019 for II year CSE students.


Five days Value Added Course on Embedded C with RTOS and IoT had conducted by Mr.K.S.Rathinasamy, Senior Technical Manager, M/s. Enthu Technology Solutions, Coimbatore., Mr.S.Thirumurugan, Senior Technical Engineer, M/s. Enthu Technology Solutions, Coimbatore.,Ms.Aishwarya, Senior Software Engineer, M/s. Enthu Technology Solutions, Coimbatore.during 10-06-2019 to 14-06-2019 for IV year CSE students.


A Four day Value Added Courses on JAVA Programming was conducted by Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, HOD/CSE, Mrs.N.Nithya, AP/CSE, Ms.P.Jothi Thilaga, AP/CSE, Ms.S.Manjula, AP/CSE, Mr.C.A.Yogaraja, AP/CSE, Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE during 03.04.2019 to 06.04.2019 for II EEE Students.


A Four day Value Added Courses on Network Termination by Mr.M.Gomathy Nayagam, Mrs.M.Swarna Sudha, Mr.S.NarayanaMoorthy, Mr.K.Muthu Kumar, Mr.S.Suresh Kumar and Mr.B.Siva Sundarji for II year CSE Students on 02.04.2019 to 06.04.2019.


Five days Value Added Course on SQL was conducted by Mrs.M.Swarna Sudha, AP(SG)/CSE, Mrs.N.Nithya, AP/CSE, Ms.P.Jothi Thilaga, AP/CSE, Ms.S.Manjula, AP/CSE, Mr.K.Vignesh Saravanan, AP/CSE during 10.12.2018 to 14.12.2018 for III year ECE students.


A Four days value added course on Java Programs and Java Collections & Web Service Deployment was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 20.11.2018 to 24.11.2018 for III Year CSE Students. The Sessions on Java programs were handled by the Internal Faculty Members (Dr.K.Vijayalakshmi, Mr.D.Lakshmanan, Mr.A.S.Prabaharan, Mr.C.A.Yogaraja) of CSE Department and Java Collections & Web Service Deployment were handled by Mr. Rajendran Subramanian, Founder & CEO Silicon Software Services and Dr. M.Kaliappan, CSE department of RIT. The Training Program on Java was accomplished well with the feedback from students who found the program very beneficial.


A Four days value added course on HTML, CSS and Data Analytics using Python was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 16.11.2018 to 19.11.2018 for II Year CSE Students. The Sessions were handled by the Internal Faculty Members (Mrs.B.Vijayalakshmi, Ms.J.Sabthami, Mr.D.Lakshmanan) of CSE Department and one session was handled by Guest Lecture on Python Tool to Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence Dr.Mohammed Aksham, Data Scientist, GrayMatter Software Services, Bangalore. The students had great interesting hands on experience on Data Analytics. During the Last session a competition was conducting for students for website creation in which students actively participated with interest.

Five days value added course on Amazon Web Services was organized by the Department of CSE during 04.06.2018 to 09.06.2018 for III year CSE students. Mr.S.Rajendran, CEO & Mr.S.Vinoth, Trainer, Silicon Software Services, Madurai were the resource persons for this programme.

A Five day value added course on Arduino with IOT was organized by the Department of CSE, RIT the along with P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College (High Skill Training & Research Centre, SPCU, DOTE, Chennai), Rajapalayam for I year CSE students during 29th May 2018 to 2nd June 2018. Mr.G.Rajagopal,HoD-Incharge/EEE(SF) & Dr.V.R.Velmurugan, Lecturer/EEE, P.A.C.R.Polytechnic College, Rajapalayam were the resource persons for this programme.


Value Added course on Cloud App Development was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering during 19th May 2018 to 24th May 2018 for III year CSE students. Mr.A.Karthikeyan, Silicon Software Services, Madurai was the resource person.


Value added course on Database using SQL for Ramco Systems placed students was organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering during 12th February 2018 to March 2018.


45 Hours value added course on SQL for ECE and EEE students was conducted by Department of Computer Science and Engineering during 19th January 2018 to March 2018. The sessions were handled by the faculty members and the final year students of CSE department.
Five days value added course on IOT with Raspberry Pi was organized from 30.11.2017 to 05.12.2017, which was handled by Mr.K.S.Rathinasamy, Technical Engineer and Ms.J.Mahalakshmi, Technical Engineer of Enthu Technology Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore. 40 students of III Year CSE attended the course and completed the mini projects with LED using Python such as blinking two LEDs simultaneously, Dancing LEDs and make LED turn off when the switch is OFF and the students to innovate their own ideas in Webserver.


Five days value added course on Java Program using HackerRank/ Hacker Earth organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering during 30.11.2017 to 03.12.2017.
Networking Termination Course for ECE and EEE students was organized by Department of CSE during 14.07.2017 to 05.08.2017.


C Programming for Faculty Members of ECE and EEE department was organized by Department of CSE during 10.06.2017 to 17.06.2017.


Networking Termination Course for non-teaching faculty member of ECE and EEE department was organized by Department of CSE during 07.06.2017 to 08.06.2017.


One day value added course on R Programming was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 17.12.2016 for IV year CSE students. Ms.J.Sabthami, AP/CSE was the resource person for this program.


Six days value added course on Advanced Java Programming was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 30.11.2016 to 05.12.2016 for Third year CSE students. Mr.S.Rajendran, Chennai was the resource persons for this course.


Two days value added course on HTML, CSS and Perl was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 18.11.2016 and 19.11.2016 for II year CSE students. Mr.K.Naveenkumar AP/CSE Mrs.N.Nithya, AP/CSE and P.Abinaya AP/CSE were the resource persons for this program.

Six days value added course on Mobile Application Development and J2EE tools was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 27.11.2015 to 03.12.2015 for Third year CSE students. Mr.Santhosh Vijay, Senior Architect, Hexaware Technologies, Chennai, Mr.Rajkumar and Mr.Joe, Director, Coursee, Chennai were the resource persons for this course.


Six days value added course on Java Programming was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 01.12.2015 to 05.12.2015. Mr.Arun Joseph, Chennai and Mr.S.Rajendran, Chennai were the resource persons for this course.
