A total of 140 students actively participated in the hackathon, which was conducted through three evaluation panels comprising one physical panel and two online panels to ensure effective assessment. The session featured eminent industry professionals including Mr. Ramesh Ramasamy, Managing Director, Maasr Consulting, UK, and Dr. Hemalatha B, Expert Trainer, Maasr Consulting, UK, who participated in physical mode, along with Mr. Saravanan Kanagarju, CEO, Fanly Communications, UK, and Ms. Deeba Venkatraman, Senior UI Consultant, Accenture, UK, who joined through online mode. The experts provided valuable insights, constructive feedback, and industry-oriented evaluation, helping students understand real-world expectations and improve their project outcomes. The event aimed to foster innovation, enhance practical knowledge, and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, offering a dynamic platform for students to demonstrate their technical competencies. The winners of the hackathon include Hariharasubramani M and Thirumoorthi R of IV Year CSE who secured the First Prize, and Manoj Kumar M, Kathirvel G, Bala Vignesh S, and Jason Ezra of III Year CSBS who secured the Second Prize, and the winning teams were also offered exciting internship opportunities. The event was successfully conducted with active participation and enthusiastic involvement from the students.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, in collaboration with the RIT IEEE Student Branch (Computer Society), RIT GFG Student Chapter, and RIT XR R&D Center, successfully organized a National Level Workshop and Hackathon titled Immersive Web Futures Where Web Meets Extended Reality from 19th to 21st February 2026.The three-day program was conducted at the Department of CSE and witnessed active participation from students across various institutions in India. The event aimed to provide hands-on exposure to emerging technologies such as WebXR, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and immersive web development. The workshop began with an introduction to the WebXR ecosystem, followed by sessions on WebXR tools and frameworks. Participants gained practical experience in developing immersive applications using A-Frame, integrating 3D models, animations, and interactive elements. The sessions were designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world implementation. On the second day, participants explored advanced concepts in immersive scene development and deployment using HTML and JavaScript-based frameworks. The hands-on sessions enabled them to build and test their own WebXR experiences. The final day featured a hackathon, where participants worked in teams to develop innovative solutions based on immersive web technologies. The event encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills among students. The projects were evaluated based on innovation, technical implementation, and real-world applicability. A total of 50 participants actively took part in the event. All participants who successfully completed the program were awarded certificates. The winners of the hackathon were recognized with cash prizes and certificates. The workshop and hackathon served as an excellent platform for students to enhance their technical expertise, explore cutting-edge technologies, and gain practical exposure to the rapidly evolving field of extended reality.
