COMPUTER AIDED BUILDING DRAWING LABORATORY

CAD Laboratory has been established over an area of 167sq.m. and fully equipped with 72 high-end latest configuration computer systems with AutoCAD 2016 software for 2D and 3D modelling of various buildings, Staad.Pro V8i software for analysing the structures, Primavera Contractor P6 software for project planning, control monitoring and reporting the construction projects, Revit Architecture 2016 software for involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of buildings, ANSYS 17.0 software for making unique and powerful tool for a wide range of civil engineering projects such as power plants, bridges and tunnels and 3 nos. of Laser Printers to print or plot drawings. The internet connection is provided to these computers through hi-speed network. CAD Laboratory provides models for various types of bridges, water tanks and retaining walls. Students obtaining their knowledge about cross section, longitudinal section, elevation for different structures of steel and concrete.

CONCRETE AND HIGHWAY ENGINEERING LABORATORY


The Concrete and Highway Engineering Laboratory has been established over an area of 148 sq.m to provide good insight into different experimental methods relevant to Concrete and Highway Engineering. Concrete Laboratory provides facilities for testing cement and concrete which includes tests for compressive strength, flexural strength, fineness and mix design of concrete. This Laboratory deals with the consultancy works in testing of cement, sand, aggregates and other construction materials.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY


The Environmental Engineering Laboratory has been established over an area of 90 sq.m. to meet the academic requirements of undergraduate programme and for full-fledged consultancy activities in the field of water and waste water quality characterization for parameters such as pH value, conductivity, turbidity, BOD, COD, solids, sodium and potassium etc.,

HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING LABORATORY


Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory has been established over an area of 181 sq.m. and it is intended to make the students aware of all the aspects which comes under the fluid flow. Hydraulics Laboratory is part of a unique research facility designed for hydraulic model studies, hydraulic performance testing and research in the fields of open channel and closed conduit hydraulics. The applications of the conservation of laws to flow through pipes and hydraulics machines are studied

SOIL MECHANICS LABORATORY


The Soil Mechanics Laboratory has been established over an area of 148 sq.m. and is equipped with facilities to carry out many types of tests on soils. These include testing of a large range of sample sizes for compressibility, shear strength and drainage properties. The study of various properties of soil and its safe bearing capacity is a prime requisite for designing a proper foundation for the construction of roads, buildings, etc. Students learn the techniques to determine index properties and engineering properties such as shear strength, compressibility and permeability by conducting appropriate tests

SURVEY LABORATORY


Survey Laboratory has been established over an area of 166sq.m. and it serves the needs of Civil Engineering basic plane surveying and supports advanced surveying courses as well as to prepare maps and plans which are used in various constructions. Students can be well trained to use all surveying equipments like Theodolite, Tacheometery and Total station and have adequate knowledge to carryout Triangulation surveying including general field marking for various engineering projects and curves setting, prepare LS & CS, contour maps and carryout surveying works related to civil engineering projects.
