RIT - PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

Rajapalayam- Ramco Institute of Technology is stepping up efforts to encourage students in Photography by forming a Photography Club. The inaugural function of the club was held on 27th March 2018. Along with the inaugural function, they arranged a workshop to introduce the basics of photography. Mr.S.Sujay, Multiple international award-winning photographer (360fotostudio) from Toronto, Canada was invited as Chief Guest.

National Moth Week Event

In view of celebrating National Moth Week, a mothing event was conducted on behalf of wildlife NGO, Rajapalayam, RIT Eco club, RIT photography Club during 30 and 31 July 2022 from 7 pm to 10 pm to study the beauty, distinctiveness and life cycles of moths and their habitats. Moths are small insects with wings similar to butterflies. They are incredibly diverse and colourful. This is an opportunity for students to explore night-time nature and spot some of the rarest moths. 8 Students had registered and participated in this fun event. 43 species were identified near the bus shed of RIT.

FIRST FEST EVENT - Picz, Video Reels & Shorts

As a part of Student Induction Programme 2022-23, the Extra Curricular Club of RIT has planned and conducted an event entitled RIT First Fest on 10.11.2023 for the first year students. On `behalf of the RIT Photography Club an event entitled Picz, Video Reels & Shorts was organized by the student coordinators & the club coordinator. 74 students from first year B.E. / B.Tech. enrolled their names and actively participated in the event & submitted the photos & reels taken by them.
Participation certificates were given to all the participants. Winners were recognized with appreciation certificates.

Poster Design Contest

On the occasion of National Pollution Control Day (2nd December 2022), as a part of the extra-curricular activities, the Photography Club of RIT in association with Eco-club, Institute Innovation Council and NSS of Ramco Institute of Technology conducted a poster-making event on Prevention Techniques for Controlling Pollution from 26.12.2022 to 30.12.2022, to create awareness among the students of RIT. The day is celebrated to commemorate the precious lives lost in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. 20 Students from various departments actively participated in the event and submitted their contributions via google form (https://forms.gle/VMJb9u1hvtQK5CiY6).
Participation certificates were given to all the participants. Winners were recognized with appreciation certificates.

BIRD WATCHING AND BUTTERFLYING EVENT

As a part of celebrating the World Environment Day (June 5, 2023), to create awareness and action for the protection of the environment, a field visit for the first year B.E. & B.Tech. students to visit the Ramco Ecopark at Panthalkudi. 37 students from I Year B.E. & B.Tech accompanied by two faculty members to visit our Ramco Ecosystem Restoration Park. Mr.M. Easwaran Senior DGM (Horticulture) from Ramco Cements, Panthalkudi, elaborated the mining activities and the restoration activities (sapling plantations) by horticulture department in the restored areas. Mr.Sujith Raja, Assistant manager (Horticulture), interacted with the students. Ms. Bhavani, Environemtal Teacher explained the types of plant and animal species in the mining restored areas. Most of the students gave good feedback regarding this event. In addition to this event, Er. K.Krishnakumar (Alumni of RIT) presented saplings to all the participants at Srivilliputtur Nila Nursery Garden.

WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY CELEBRATION - A Photography Contest on Black and White Photography

On the occasion of World photography day, a photography contest entitled Black and White Photography was conducted by the RIT Photography club on 19.08.2021. The idea behind the celebration is to bring together photographers to create meaningful and positive change in the community through photography. A total of 12 students from various institutions like RIT, Pondicheery Enginering College, Tamilnadu Institute of Labour studies, Sesha Vidhyashram, GRD college of Arts and Science, Sri Kaliswari College, Narasus Sarathy Institute of Technology and Hindu Higher Secondary School, watrap have actively participated in the event and submitted the photographs taken by them and highlighted their dedication while capturing photographs. E-Certificates were given to the participants and the winners.

RIT Virtual Campus Tour As a part of First Year B.E. / B.Tech. Induction Programme

As a part of our first year B.E. /B.Tech. student induction program, a Virtual Campus Tour was scheduled and conducted for the prospective students joined in the academic year 20212022 on 20.10.2021 at 11.00 AM in Big Seminar Hall. In order to give an overview of RIT Campus, documentary videos taken by Fountain Head & RIT-Photography club members were shown to the first year students. The documentary films are as follows.

Bird Watching Event As a part of First Year B.E. / B.Tech. Induction Programme

As a part of our first year B.E. /B.Tech. student induction program, a bird watching event was organized by the RIT-Photography club for the first year students on 2410.2021 inside our college campus. 12 first year B.E. / B.Tech. students along with 5 photography club members were actively involved in the bird watching event. Most of the students gave good feedback regarding this event.

Photo Contest on PONGAL CELEBRATIONS

As a part of our Ramco Institute of Technology Extra-curricular activity program, a photo contest for school & college students was arranged through online mode entitled Pongal Celebrations. The event was jointly organized and conducted by the club co-ordinators of Eco club, Tamil mandram and RIT photography club during 14.01.2022 to 20.01.2022. Google forms were sended to the registered participants to submit the photos taken by them for the event. Out of 19 registrations, 3 School students submitted the photos taken by them. E-Certificates were given to all the participants.

National Science Day Celebrations Photo Contest

On the occasion of National Science Day Celebrations, as a part of the extra-curricular activities, a Photo Contest has been arranged and conducted by the by RIT-Photography club co-ordinator and student representatives in Chemistry Laboratory on 26.02.22 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 43 Students from all the departments actively participated in the event and submitted their photos. Best photos were selected by the jury members and awarded with certificates.

BIRD WATCHING AND BUTTERFLYING

RIT-Photography club organized an event on Photo Contest on Bird Watching and Butterflying for RIT students on 21.05.2022. As a part of our curriculum, GE8291- Environmental Science and Engineering subject, to gain knowledge and to get an awareness on natural resources and environment, 20 students from II Year B.E. ECE and 10 students from I Year B.E./B.Tech. of the RIT-Photography Club, accompanied by two faculty members and Final Year students of the club visited our Ramco Ecopark Panthalkudi on 21.05.2022 (Saturday) at 09:00 am. Most of the students gave good feedback regarding this event.

A DAY IN RIT- CAMPUS TOUR DOCUMENTARY

For shooting the college documentary we and other 5 photography club members started the shooting process. It took around three days to completely finish the shooting process. We started the process using two cameras canon 1500D, canon 200D and mini Mavic pro. All team members initially took an survey on the places to be covered and also other requirements like lighting frame etc... Then we start taking outdoor shots first when the weather was good. We finished the drone shots at first and progressed to other camera shorts. We spent good amount of time for showing our campus at its best shape. Then we progressed to indoor shooting. For this part of the work we show cased our talents in this part. We started from administration room and moved on to departments. While doing we were concerned with showing each and every facilities of our campus. Starting from civil department we started our shoot on technical part of the campus. We went on in shooting all the labs of civil department. Further we progressed in shooting to all departments and labs. We also spend time in labs for showing the complete usage and facilities available in each and every lab. Then we captured the tremendous library with the frames of our camera. Finally we went to our college playground and gymnasium, then we moved to our well-furnished hostel. We were also astonished by seeing the clips of our hostel shoot. Finally we finished shooting and moved to post production works. We editing using Adobe premium pro and added more beauty to our videos. At last our three days work came paid us as a complete single video.

PHOTO CONTEST ON BIRD WATCHING AND BUTTERFLYING

RIT-Photography club and eco club jointly organized an event on Photo Contest on Bird Watching and Butterflying for school and college students from 12.12.2020-20.12.2020 through virtual mode. 75 students from various schools and colleges participated and uploaded their photos for this event. FUNRITZ 21 - Photo Contest on Traditional Sports Celebrations Clickz

As a part of our Ramco Institute of Technology Extra-curricular activity program, FUNRITZ21 An edutainment programme for school students was arranged through offline mode. On behalf of the RIT Photography club, an event called Traditional Sports Celebrations Clickz has been arranged and conducted by the club co-ordinator and student representatives of the club during 25.01.2021 to 31.01.2021. Google forms were sended to the registered participants to submit the photos taken by them for the event. Out of 84 registrations, 50 School students from Virudhungar, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Thoothukudi, Karaikudi and Tirunelveli regions submitted their photos taken by them. Trophies and Certificates were given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.

JAL DIWAS EVENT CELEBRATIONS

As per the direction of AICTE, Jal Diwas Event was celebrated at Ramco Institute of Technology on 22nd July, 2019. Four events were conducted for students on the theme, Water Conservation and Rain Water Harvesting. Events: Poetry Competition, Painting Competition, Photography event, and Plantation Drive within the college campus. Around 50 numbers of students from various departments participated in the events and won prizes. After the competitions were over, a tree plantation drive was conducted within the college campus, in which, 10 students participated and planted 50 saplings. All the winners were rewarded with shields.

As a part of our Ramco Institute of Technology Extra-curricular Activity Program, FUNRITZ192.0 An edutainment program for school students was arranged in our campus on 28.08.19. On behalf of the RIT-Photography club, an event called Caption the Campus Shoot has been arranged and conducted by the club co-ordinator and student representatives in the chemistry laboratory. School students from Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Sattur and Tirunelveli districts participated in the event and submitted their photos taken on our college campus. Trophies and Certificates were given to the 1st and 2nd prize winners.

World photography day was celebrated on 19.08.2019 by RIT Photography club. The idea behind that day is to bring together photographers to create meaningful and positive change in the community through photography. Students of RIT Photography Club actively participated and shared their passion for photography and highlighted their hard work and funny moments while capturing photographs.

Dark Room Photo Gallery Exhibition

As a part of our college Techyuga-2K19 celebrations, a photo gallery exhibition was arranged on behalf of the RIT Photography club and exhibited on 31.08.2019 in Classroom-II at 10:30 am. The program was started with a ribbon-cutting by our chief guest Dr.R.Srinivasan, Member Secretary, TNSCST, DoTE Campus, Chennai along with the presence of our college vice-principal Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran. Photographs taken by our college students were exhibited in the venue by our student representatives and club members. Students, Faculty members and non-teaching faculties from all the departments visited the exhibition and given their feedbacks.

Face Painting Photos Gallery

On the occasion of National Science Day Celebrations, as a part of the extra-curricular activities, a Face Painting Photo Gallery event has been conducted by the RIT-Photography club on 28.02.20 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Students from all the departments actively participated in the face painting event and submitted their photos for display. The exhibit attracted a lot of crowd. At the same time, a grand release of our campus documentary film Ecosystem of RIT & an awareness short film on Marine Pollution taken by our RIT Photography Club Members was released in presence of the chief guest Dr.P.Veeramani, Chief Scientist (Retd.) from Central Electro Chemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi who inaugurated the event with a ribbon-cutting along with our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ramco Group of Institutions, Principal and Vice-principal of RIT. HoDs of various departments, VIPs, Guests, Faculty members & students also visited the gallery and appreciated the student participants for their efforts and creativity. Best photos in the exhibits were selected for prizes and certificates.

TechYuga-18 Photo Gallery Exhibition

As a part of our college Techyuga-18 event, a photo gallery exhibition was arranged and exhibited in the physics laboratory on 31.08.2018 at 11:30 am. The program was started with a ribbon-cutting by our chief guest Dr.S.Rajesh, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kalasalingam University and our vice-principal Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran. Photographs taken by our college students were exhibited in the venue by our student representatives and club members. Faculty members and non-teaching faculties from all the departments visited the exhibition and given their feedbacks. Press and media peoples also came to the exhibition and expressed their comments with our students.

WILDLIFE FILMS FILMOGRAPHY

As a part of extra-curricular activities, the RIT Photography Club & Eco Club had organized an event at the institute premises on 10.09.18, entitled "Wildlife Films Filmography". In this event, India's renowned wildlife cinematographer Mr. N. Nallamuthu participated as a special guest. Our vice-principal Dr.S. Rajakurunakaran delivered the welcome address. Mr.N.Nallamuthu addressed the students with the importance of the tigers in the forest, then he screened his film "Tiger Queen", and discussed with the students. In this discussion, he spoke to the students about the importance of the tiger and the experience he had with the tigers in the forest. Mr. Ramachandra Raja - Governing council member, Board of Directors, T.P.S.Mills executives, Gopi Electrics Executives and guests from Chinmaya Vidyalaya attended the function. The arrangements for this event are assisted by the deputy general manager Mr. K.S.Selvaraj and faculty members from chemistry Dr. M. Venkatesh Perumal and Mrs.N. Revathi.

FUNRITZ 19 Capture Nature Event

As a part of our Ramco Institute of Technology Extra-curricular Activity Program, FUNRITZ19 An edutainment programme for school students was arranged in our campus on 30.01.19. On behalf of the RIT-Photography club, an event called CAPTURE NATURE has been arranged and conducted by the club coordinator and student representatives in the chemistry laboratory. School students from Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli districts participated in the event and submitted their photos taken on our college campus. Dr.P.Arujunan, M.B.B.S. Psychiatrist, Seithur has given a motivational lecture and distributed the trophies and certificates to the prize winners.
