About

The club functions to review the existing arrangements for the safety and security of girls & women in particular and of the entire youth in general. It strives to promote the general welfare of the student community while creating a positive, intellectual, social, and cultural environment among women. The club strives to establish a strong community of young women in campus by helping them to build character, improve self-awareness, and gain confidence within ones self.

The Centre for Women Welfare, Safety and Progress has been constituted for the academic year 2021-2022 based on the Anna University Letter. No. D.O. NO. 91-3/2013(TFGS) dt. 28.08.2014. This Committee meets periodically and organize conferences, seminars, workshops and classes for counseling, self-defense, welfare, safety and progress of girls and women of girls.

Centre for Women Welfare Safety & Progress of our college organized an awareness programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Work Place to all girl students on 10.12.2021. The Chief Guest Mr. V. Ramakrishnan, DSP, Rajapalayam delivered the felicitation address. Mrs. Uma Maheswari, from Cyber Security department advised the students regarding cybercrimes which happens every day in everybodys life. Ms.Maria Packiam, SI, Rajapalayam Women police station, Ms. Brindha, Counsellor, Miss. Maheswari, Cyber security officer and Ms. Josephin, counsellor,181 from Women welfare, Virudhunagar with us during the function and the guests delivered a lecture on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Work place.

International Womens Day Celebrations

As a part of Womens Day Celebrations, a webinar on Role of Education in Women Empowerment special lecture on Education if Life was conducted through Google Meet platform on 08.03.2022. Mrs. Shanthi Komaravolu, Regional Head-Academic Innovations, Idealabs FutureTech Ventures. Resource person explained the role of education in personal development of womens life. She listed the good habits to be followed by every woman their life to empower their life. Totally 136 participated attended the webinar and they are benefited.

Centre for Women Welfare Safety & Progress of our college organized an awareness programme on Understanding Womens Health to all girl students on 03.06.2022. The Chief Guest Dr.E.K.JOSHNA MDS, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon, Government Medical College, Kottayam delivered lecture and 65 Girl students attended the lecture and benefitted.

In view of Tamil New Year celebration on 14th April 2021, Tamil Mandram in connection with Centre For Women Welfare Safety And Progress, POSH Cell of our college conducted a Speech Contest on the topic What is the world without women for students of RIT from 14.04.2021 to 30.04.2021.

Awareness Programme on KAVALAN -SOS

Centre for Women Welfare, Safety and Progress Club of Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam organized an awareness program on KAVALAN-SOS for the girl students on18.12.2019. Mr.M.Nallasankar, DSP (Rajapalayam) presided over the function. He insisted that installing this app in the mobile would secure them from all evil things. Mrs. Kargpagam explained how to install the app and wanted them to use it when there was a need. Nearly 300 students and staff members participated and downloaded the app in the presence of DSP. The function was organized by the Principal, DGM and Dr.G.Kanthimathi Women welfare safety and progress coordinator.

150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Kavithai Potti

On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Kavithai Potti (Both Tamil & English) was conducted by Centre for Women Welfare Safety and Progress on the topic Gandhis View on Womens Rights on 4.10.2019. 25 students participated and won prizes.

FUNRITZ 19 2.0

FUNRITZ 19 2.0 was conducted on 27.08.2019 for school student. On behalf of center for women welfare safety and progress, Facial painting competition was conducted.
