The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Ramco Institute of Technology recently organized a comprehensive two-week Faculty Development Programme on Computer Vision & GenAI Tools from July 15th to 27th, 2024. Esteemed speakers such as Dr. Noor Zaman Jhanjhi from Taylors University, Malaysia, Mr. V. Karthik from Adcansix Inc., USA, and Mr. Harish Kumar from IRIS Software Group, Noida, shared their expertise on topics including cybersecurity in AI, industry use cases in data analytics, and generative AI tools like Gemini and ChatGPT. Dr. M. Kaliappan, the Head of the AI&DS department, delivered insightful lectures on video-based rendering object detection and image annotation, supplemented by hands-on training sessions. The program also featured lectures from professors and industry professionals on advanced topics such as object detection using Kalman Filter, camera calibration, 3D reconstruction, and face recognition using computer vision. This event saw active participation from 112 faculty members and research scholars from various institutions across Tamil Nadu and other states, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and development in cutting-edge AI technologies. The AI&DS department, with coordinators Mrs. B. Revathi, Ms. S. Selvabirunda, and Mr. M. Ramnath, is committed to organizing similar programs focusing on the latest open-source AI tools in the near future.
Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organized a Five-day Faculty Development Programme on Data Analytics and Machine Learning during 13 17 February, 2023. Totally 238 faculty members have registered in the Faculty Development Programme, of which 180 participants are from Tamilnadu & 58 participants from other states. Mrs. Urvasi Nag, Senior Research Fellow, CSIR Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Dr. Bighnaraj Naik, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Application, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Dr. Saroj K Meher, Associate professor, System Science and informatics Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Dr. Janmenjoy Nayak, Associate professor , Department of CSE/PG, Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Mr. Saurabh Jaju, Senior Data Scientist, Ramco systems, Singapore, Dr.Asit Kumar Das, Professor and Head, Dept. of CSE, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and technology & Mr.Vijaya Bhaskar, CEO, Hera Tech India Pvt Ltd, Rajapalayam & UAE has delivered lecture on Predictive Analytics, Ensemble and Deep Learning techniques. The programme started with a formal inaugural function. In this training programme, the faculties were given insights with new skills in emerging algorithms and hands-on training was provided. Dr.M.Kaliappan, Prof/HOD of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Dr. S. Vimal, ASCP/AD organised the programme. Mrs. B.Revathi, AP/AD and Ms.S.Selva Birunda AP/AD coordinated this programme.
