RIT ARC INAUGURATION
RIT Automation and Robotics Club (RIT ARC) was inaugurated on National Science day 28.02.2018 (Wednesday). The Chief Guest for the inaugural function is Mr.Sankaranarayanan, Chief Operating Officer, Harita Techserv Limited, Coimbatore.
Students demonstrated Industrial Automation setup along with various robotics based projects during Inauguration. Mr.S.Binu Sam, IV Year Mechanical Engineering nominated as a secretary for this club. The faculty Co-ordinators for this club are listed below.

ONE DAY AWARENESS PROGRAM ON ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION
A One day awareness program on Robotics and Automation was conducted by RIT ARC for I year CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical Engineering Students on 14.03.2018 (Wednesday) in Mechanical Seminar hall. RIT ARC student constitution members are explained various events related to robotics and automation field. 49 students participated in this program.
ROBO LINE FOLLOWER EVENT
Robo Line Follower event was conducted by RIT ARC to CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical Students on March 23, 2018 in Mechatronics Laboratory. 22 teams from various departments participated in this program.

Automation and Robotics Club of RIT organised a 'Robo Race' event on 08.01.2019 (Tuesday) in Mechatronics Lab-II for II and III Year students of ECE,EEE and Mechanical Engineering. 08 Teams are participated in the event. Mr.B.Kannan, AP(SG)/ECE Faculty Coordinator for this event. Mr.K.Vignesh, III Year Mechanical Engineering was the student Coordinator for this event.
WORKSHOP CUM COMPETITION ON PNEUMATICS AND AUTOMATION
A two-day state level workshop cum-competition on "PNEUMATICS AND AUTOMATION" conducted by Department of Mechanical Engineering Association RIT MECHANIZO in association with ARC RIT at Mechatronics Laboratory in our college during February 01-02,2019. 40 students across the Tamil Nadu and Bangalore are participated in this event. Mr.S.Julius Fusic from Thiagrajar College of Engineering and Mr.S.Nirmal Kumar, Design Engineer, Harita Techserv are the resource persons for this event. The winners of this event are awarded with cash prize and certificate of appreciation. Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech and Mr.T.Selvasundar, AP/Mech are the faculty coordinators for this event.
ROBO QUIZ
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT and Mechanical Department Association RIT Mechanizo conducted a event "ROBO QUIZ" during National Science Day 2019. 10 Teams from Mechanical Engineering participated in the first round out of that 5 teams qualified for the final round. Mr.V. MATHU SUDAN and Mr.P.KARPAGARAJAN of Final Year Mechanical Engineering Students hosted this event. Mr.M.MANOJKUMAR from Final year Mechanical Engineering secured first place and Mr.M.Deepak Vishnu and Mr.P.Arun Kumar of Second Year Mechanical Engineering secured second place.
ROBO CONNEXION
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT and Mechanical Department Association RIT Mechanizo conducted a event "ROBO CONNEXION" during National Science Day 2019. 20 Teams from EEE and Mechanical Engineering participated in the first round out of that 5 teams qualified for the final round. Mr.M.VIGNESH and Mr.T.RAHUL of Final Year Mechanical Engineering Students hosted this event. Mr.V.Arunachalam and Mr.V. Ananth Narayanan from Third year EEE secured first place and Mr.R.SHARINRAJA and Mr.S.SARAVANA KUMAR of from Final year Mechanical Engineering secured second place.
e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory Inauguration
e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory is coming under MHRD Sponsored e-Yantra project named National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). IIT Bombay is associated with MHRD to establish e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory across the country. The college should debut four faculty members to train the robotics kits related to this laboratory. Task Based Training is given to the faculty members of the college who are involved in this project. The task is evaluated and progress has been sent to the team leader of the college. In Ramco Institute of Technology this work was started during October 2018. After finishing all the tasks, the components required to set the laboratory were procured and laboratory was inaugurated on 14.03.2019 by IIT Bombay Professor. Kavi Arya, Principal Investigator of the project through video conferencing.Mr.Siva Chidhambaram, III Year ECE student welcome the gathering. Dr.N.Jawahar, Principal of RIT delivered presidential address and handover the robotic components to e-Yantra team members of RIT. Dr.S.Rajakarunakaran, Vice-principal of RIT opened the signage board of e-Yantra laboratory. Mr.Kapil, III Year ECE student delivered vote of thanks.Winners of various events conducted by ARC RIT was appreciated by certificates. The students and faculty members who had e-Yantra labs setup have been eligible for participating events, internship, project ideas which will be conducted by IIT Bombay officials. Today there are 6 laboratories was inaugurated by e-Yantra team in all over India.
e-Yantra Ideas Competition
R.Manoj Kumar, N.Gokul Prasath, S.Kalaiprabhu, S.Ganeshkumar of III Year Mech A Students participated in e-YIC Regional Final Competition conducted at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research in association with e-Yantra, IIT Bombay during 21.02.2020-22.02.2020. Students received cash prize of Rs.5000 and a drone kit e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory of our college.
Robot Making, Programming and Automation
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT conducted a one-week finishing school program titled Robot Making, Programming and Automation to the class X, XI and XII students at newly established e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory during April 22-27, 2019. 30 students across south Tamil Nadu was actively participated throughout this program with various tasks and challenges-based trainings. Faculty Members from RIT handled sessions on Firebird V Robot, Arduino Programming, Raspberry Pi Programming and Automation systems using PLCs, CIROS Modules. Dr. S. Periyanayagi, Professor and Head welcomed the gathering. Dr. N. Jawahar, Principal of RIT distributed the appreciation certificates and prizes to school students who completed the tasks successfully. Dr. S. Rajakarunakaran, Vice-principal of RIT delivered the vote of thanks.
Mechatronics Skills 2020-Beginner Level-I
To participate IndiaSkills 2020-Mechatronics Skills(Conducted by National Skills Development Centre, MHRD) Competition a four-day course on "Mechatronics Skills 2020-Beginner Level-I" was conducted by RIT Mechanical Faculty Members Mr. S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech, Mr.T.Selva Sundar, AP/Mech and Mr.K.Amudhan, AP/Mech to II and III Year Mechanical and ECE students in Mechatronics Laboratory from June 11 to June 15, 2019. Students were exposed to mechanical systems, integration of electrical and electronic devices to control mechanical stations during the course period. An assessment was conducted on the final day of the course. 18 Students selected for next level of training which will begin from July 2019 to March 2020.
COURSE ON IoT AND ROBOTICS
A four-day Value Added course on "IoT and Robotics" was conducted by the Department of CSE in association with Automation and Robotics Club of RIT during June 24-27,2019 at e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory. 20 Students from third-year CSE participated in this course. Hands-on training in Firebird V and Raspberry Pi was given to the students by the RIT faculty members during the sessions.
TECHYUGA 2019 EVENTS
Automation and Robotics club of RIT conducted four events during TechYuga'19. The events are Robo Rush, Robo Seguidor, PLC Guru, and Firebird V Robo Techie.
e-Yantra Robotics Competition was conducted by IIT Bombay for the academic year 2019-2020. The registration process was started in August 2019. Totally, 20 teams from all branches registered. First-round (online MCQ) was started on 18 September 2019 and finished on 02 October 2019. Winners of the first round will be declared on 20 October 2019. The following teams are shortlisted for the second round. In this round, students are asked to prepare and submit the solutions for problem statements given by the IIT Bombay Officials.
Training Program on CIROS for Mechatronics Skills 2020
The Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Automation and Robotics Club organized a two-day training program on CIROS Education software for IndiaSkills 2020- Mechatronics Skills enrolled students during 05.04.2020-06.04.2020. FESTO India provides one user license for conducting this training. Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech explained various modules and programming of MPS stations using the software to the students.
Training Program on Programmable Logic Controllers Modules-I to III for Mechatronics Skills 2020
The Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Automation and Robotics Club organised a three-day training program on Programmable Logic Controllers Modules-I to III for IndiaSkills 2020- Mechatronics Skills enrolled students during 31.03.2020-02.04.2020. Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech handled the sessions.
3-Day Webinar on Artificial Intelligence for Beginners
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT in association with RIT ISTE Students Chapter, RIT IE(I), RIT Mechanizo organised a three-day webinar on "Artificial Intelligence for Beginners" from 15-17, July 2020. A Total of 189 participants across all major cities of India along with a few participants from Oman and Malaysia attended the webinar. Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech, Mr.T.Selva Sundar, AP/Mech and Mr. K. Amudhan, AP/Mech coordinated the event.
3-Day Workshop on Building Smart Automation Design
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT in association with RIT ISTE Students Chapter, RIT IE(I), Institution's Innovation Council organised a three-day workshop on "Building Smart Automation Design" from 5-7, August 2020. A Total of 220 participants across all major cities of India along with a few participants from Oman and Malaysia attended the webinar. Dr.S.Godwin Barnabas, ASCP/Mech, Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech, Mr.T.Selva Sundar, AP/Mech, Mr. K. Amudhan, AP/Mech and Mr.K.Vigneshwaran, AP/Mech coordinated the event. Mr. N. Gokul Prasath, Mr. R. Manoj Kumar of IV Mech students are the students coordinators for this event.
Webinar on Circuit Design using Tinkercad
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT in association with RIT ISTE Students Chapter, RIT IE(I), Institution's Innovation Council organized a one-day webinar on "Circuit Design using Tinkercad" on 27, September 2020. A total of 65 participants across all over India attended the webinar. Mr. B. Kannan, AP(SG)/ECE, and Mr.P.Gunasekaran, AP/ECE acted as the resource person for this event. 2-Day Training on CASE STUDIES IN DEEP LEARNING- HANDS-ON SESSION USING GOOGLE CO-LAB
Automation and Robotics Club of RIT in association with RIT ISTE Students Chapter, RIT IE(I), Institution's Innovation Council, RIT Mechanizo organised a 2- day Training on "CASE STUDIES IN DEEP LEARNING- HANDS-ON SESSION USING GOOGLE CO-LAB" during October 16-17, 2020. A Total of 80 participants across all over India attended the webinar. Mr. S. Valai Ganesh, AP/MECH, Mr. K. Amudhan, AP/Mech and Mr. R. Deiva Nayagam, AP/ECE acted as the resource person for this event. Mr. T. Selva Sundar, AP/Mech and Mr. S. Meenakshi Sundaravel, AP(SG)/EEE coordinated the event. Mr. S. Ganeshkumar of IV Mech student is the student coordinator for this event.
3-Day TRAINING PROGRAM ON "ROBO DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING"
The RIT-Automation and Robotics Club in association with RIT-ISTE, RIT-IE(I) and IIC organized a Three days Programme on ROBO DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING from 07.06.2021 to 09.06.2021. More than 50 participants of X, XI and XII students from various schools actively participated in this programme. Mr.B.Kannan, AP(SG)/ECE, Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mech, Mr.R.Dinesh, II-Year Mechanical and Mr.R.Shyam Sundar II-Year Mechanical were the resource persons for this programme. They explained about the Basic Hardware for Robot design, Sensors, and Programming. Quizzes were also conducted at the end of each session.
WORKSHOP ON "HOME AUTOMATION USING IOT"
The RIT-Automation and Robotics Club in association with RIT-ISTE, RIT-IE(I), and IIC organized a one-day workshop on Home Automation using IoT on 20.06.2021. More than 50 participants from various polytechnics actively participated in this programme. Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mechanical, was the resource person for this programme. He explained about the Basics of IoT, Introduction to Pi, Sensor, Actuators Interfacing, and Programming. Quizzes were also conducted at the end of each session. The sessions were coordinated by Dr.S.Godwin Barnabas, ASCP/Mech, Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mechanical, Mr.T.Selva Sundar, AP/Mechanical, Mr.K.Vigneshwaran, AP/Mechanical, Mr.S.Jehaveerapandian, II-Year Mechanical, and Mr.P.R.Vijay Jeganath II-Year Mechanical.
QUIZ ON "ROBOTICS" FOR SCHOOL AND POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS
The RIT-Automation and Robotics Club in association with RIT-ISTE, RIT-IE(I), and IIC organized a quiz on Robotics during 01-10 July 2021 for school and polytechnic students. 195 participants from various schools and Polytechnics actively participated in this program. 135 Students were awarded certificates after scoring more than 60% on the quiz. The sessions were coordinated by Dr.S.Godwin Barnabas, ASCP/Mech, Mr.S.Valai Ganesh, AP/Mechanical, Mr.T.Selva Sundar, AP/Mechanical, Mr.K.Vigneshwaran, AP/Mechanical, Mr. Soumya Souvik Khuntia, II-Year Mechanical, and Mr.S.Asvin, III-Year Mechanical.
