Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering


The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is established in 2013. Currently, it offers a 4 year Under-Graduate programme, B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a sanctioned intake of 60.

The objective of the Department is to impart quality education and competitive training that will transform Students into Professional Engineers who are prepared to meet the needs of the society and adapt to the rapidly changing technology in various areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The Department has well-qualified and experienced Faculty members with specialization in Power Systems, High Voltage Engineering, Power Electronics and Control Systems. The Faculty members also have wide experience in teaching. They have a strong sense of responsibility to provide the finest possible engineering education to the students.

The Department has dedicated and state-of-the-art laboratories to cater to academic and research activities. It provides the Students with an in-depth knowledge in fundamentals and practical applications, so that he/she can pursue for wide-range of career opportunities.

The Department conducts Workshops, Seminars and Conferences and invites renowned academicians and industrial experts to enable the Students and Faculty to update with the latest developments. It also encourages Students to interact with Experts from Industries and other prominent Institutions.

The department has a well-established Control and Instrumentation Laboratory over an area of 147 Sq.m. This laboratory has established with an objective to gain practical experience in the field of control engineering. Control and Instrumentation Laboratory equipped to experiment on Modelling of Systems, AC/DC bridges, Synchros, Position and Speed control of AC/DC motors, Controller and Compensator Design, Measurement of Pressure, Temperature, Displacement, Strain, Flow, Power, Energy and Signal conditioning, etc. Also, the Laboratory has MATLAB simulation software, PLC and HMI Software/ Hardware, SCADA simulation software package which facilitates the students to do simulation based experiments, assignments and projects.


This Laboratory is established over a large carpet area of about 305 Sq.m. having D.C. machines, A.C. Machines, Transformers, Auto transformers, Rectifiers, Special machines, Various loads, Machine Models, Various ranges of voltmeters, ammeters, Wattmeters and power factor meters. This laboratory imparts the knowledge about the characteristics and behaviour of the DC and AC machines.


Electrical Practices Laboratory is established over an area of 150 Sq.m. and provides the essential facilities to the students to augment their concepts about the fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The Laboratory is well established and equipped with Digital storage oscilloscope, Computers, Energy meter, Wattmeter and various ranges of Voltmeters and Ammeters, various load banks and auto transformers.

In this Laboratory the basic experiments like measurement of voltage, current, power and power factor in single phase supply, residential wiring, lamp wiring, and energy measurement are conducted.

The Power Electronics Laboratory is established in the EEE block in an area of 143 Sq.m. This lab, with the required state-of-the-art facilities, allows students of Electrical & Electronics Engineering to do various experiments using power electronic devices. The lab houses power electronics training kits, chopper & inverter control units, thyristor controllers, oscilloscopes, LCR meters and multi-meters. Students get to learn the characteristics of various switching devices like SCR, TRIAC, MOSFET and IGBT. They can work with half and fully controlled rectifiers, single phase and three phase inverters, choppers and AC voltage controllers. Moreover, this lab aids in learning various modulation techniques of PWM inverters. The lab also facilitates the use of simulation software which enables students to simulate all power electronics experiments. The experience which the students gain from working in this lab will make them better prepared for meeting the needs of core industries.


The Power System Simulation Laboratory is established over an area of about 150 Sq.m. The laboratory has software packages like MATLAB, Power World Simulator, ETAP and DIgSILENT. This laboratory enables the students to acquire knowledge in Power system Analysis, Power System Operation and Control, Power System Protection, Restructuring of Power System and Cable Sizing.
